Shoutout to Tyler Timko, CFRE in The Chronicle of Philanthropy for reminding fundraisers and their managers that better data starts with you. If you have met with 100 donors in the last year but only documented ten visits then you might as well have only done ten visits...
Missions deserve your best attention! Imagine a physician only writing in 10% of charts or a teacher only grading 10% of students' papers. Why do nonprofits allow this important tracking to fall through the cracks?
If you are missing the most vital information a analysis will not be nearly as fruitful or efficient.
Moral of the story: Take ten minutes and write a paragraph in your CRM after each appointment and if you do not have time to do that then you do not have time to go on that visit.
