Peer Counselorโs helped support the Out of the Darkness Walk this past weekend to support su***de awareness and prevention. ๐ Students, friends and family members walked a mile to remember those who have dealt with the tragedy of su***de. โ๏ธ participants enjoyed activities, a silent auction and speaker. We would like to extend a thank you to all who sponsored, donated and walked. ๐๐๐

Tomorrow Peer Counselors will be helping to host the Out of the Darkness Walk. This event will help raise awareness for su***de prevention. We understand the great risk that college students face when it comes to taking their own lives, and we want to work to prevent these kinds of tragedies from happening on our own campus. We are collaborating with various groups here at Grand View such as the Spanish Club, Pride Club, Diversity Alliance, Voz Latinx, Student Leadership Team & the GV Viking counsel. A night filled with highlighting the value and diversity various cultures bring to campus is just what we all need! โจ

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. Advocates across the nation unite to end domestic abuse. The Peer Counselors have taken the step to educate ourselves on romantic, family, professional/school, and friend based relationships. We will be sharing what makes these relationships healthy vs. unhealthy and tips on making/keeping them healthy.
