Under The Sea week 7

Summer campers did their summer reading at the DesMoines Library, crafted making treasure boxes and sea creature decorations, enjoyed delicious treats- ocean water floats, desert “sushi” and fresh made cotton candy. To end the week we had a bubble foam party!! We also said a bitter sweet “see you next time” to Miss Nicole for her last day as she heads back to college.

Change of plans for this Friday August 1st! Unfortunately our field trip did not work out. We will now be having a FOAM PARTY at camp with a special yummy snack and fresh made cotton candy for the kids! Please pack

Ahoy there mateys! week 6

Yo-ho-ho! All our summer camp buccaneers had a grand ol’ time making ships in a bottle and their very own parrots, as every pirate needs a pet parrot! They sailed the seas during water play with water balloons, water squirters and rode their ships through the splash zone. We celebrated the end of the week at the field house pirate park and enjoyed McDonald’s for lunch!

VBS week 5

This week we focused on spreading love, happiness and kindness to each other! We had our first trip to the DesMoines library where we all had a great time getting in some summer reading. We beat the heat during water play with a “scooter car wash”! Our lovely Mrs. Micki was a summer Santa clause and gifted 2 GIANT bags of popcorn donated to us from the movie theatre! The kids decorated crosses for themselves and to share with friends and family. We made an ice cream bowl craft with cotton balls and water colors to get ready for our special field trip. On Friday we enjoyed a sweet treat at Auntie Irene’s. Thank you Auntie Irene’s and the Wattenburg family for filling our buckets and our tummies with delicious ice cream sundaes!

Lets create! STEM week 4

“Take chances, make mistakes and get messy!” We all channeled our Miss Frizzle this week by stretching our minds and using our creativity. The kiddos got all hands in making their own slime. We also decorated CDs to make CD rom spinner tops. Campers stayed cool during water play and finished the week with a field trip to the Pacific Science Center.

Old McDonald had a farm week 3

The kiddos had fun making farm themed crafts, racing around on scooters at recess, staying cool during water play with water squirters and water balloons (even the workers joined in!), had a yummy “pig pen” pudding snack and celebrated the 4th of July by making our own shaved ice!

The land before time dinosaurs week 2

The kids enjoyed making dinosaur masks, dinosaur landscapes and had a blast on our field trip to the DesMoines Marina searching for crabs, finding special seashells and rocks and playing on the field.
