McKinley Eagles set goals, own our learning, accept and respect all, and are ready to lead! McKinley Elementary School is a neighborhood school nestled in Des Moines’ southeast side. We provide education to students Kindergarten through 5th Grade in addition to one Pre-K classroom. All grade levels have traditional homeroom teachers and instructional delivery. Students are able to receive special services from a variety of resources (ELL, SPED, ID Classrooms, mental health therapy through Orchard Place, Title teachers among others). Students are able to learn about the world around them through art, music, and PE. Students are able to participate in an after-school enrichment program called 21st Century Learning Skills. We are a school of diverse people and learners. You will find a dedicated staff to provide the best educational experience for all children. If you ever have a question or concern, please do not hesitate to contact us at school.

Tomorrow, Mason heads to Arizona for the Junior Roughstock Association Finals after earning a spot as one of the Top 10 youth riders in the world, an incredible achievement! While a broken limb will keep him from competing, he will still be recognized at the event and proudly represent Iowa.
Today, we gave Mason a special McKinley-style clap out to celebrate his accomplishment and show our support. We are so proud of him and wish him the very best. Congratulations, Mason, on this amazing honor! 👏🐂🏆🤠
