This has been a tough decision, but unfortunately we have came to the conclusion, after record amount of rain this month, that tomorrow's GV Baseball Alumni/Parent day game is cancelled due to field and weather conditions after todays rain. Thunderstorms are scheduled all day tomorrow, and we have standing water in the infield grass currently.

GV Baseball wants to congratulate Alumni Rocky Lutz who was a talented catcher for the Vikings. Looks like his hard work and dedication isn't stopping as an Urbandale Police Officer. Way to represent Rocky!

2026 CITSTF OWI Officer of the Year-Officer Rocky Lutz

Officer Lutz has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to keeping the streets of Urbandale safe, particularly through his dedication to identifying and removing impaired drivers from our roadways.

His commitment extends beyond his regular shift, as he routinely volunteers for GTSB & CITSTF overtime specifically to seek out and apprehend impaired drivers. With only 2 years on the department, Officer Lutz has led the department in OWI arrests each of those years!

What truly sets Officer Lutz apart is his determination and positive attitude. He approaches each shift with a clear purpose: to make a difference in the community and make the streets of Urbandale safer for everyone. His passion for this mission is evident in both his productivity and his consistent willingness to put in the extra effort.

His commitment to going above and beyond, his positive attitude, and his unwavering focus on making our roads safer make Officer Lutz highly deserving of this recognition.
