Who knew making etched glasses could be so much fun. Let us know if you want us to run this event again.

Join us in the Innovation Studio from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, to make custom etched glasses. You can bring a design, or we will help you make one. These will make perfect holiday gifts for friends and family.

The Innovation Studio is located in the Student Life Center in the Olmsted. Glasses are limited, so email [email protected] in advance to reserve yours (you can reserve up to 2, but if there are extras at the event, you can make more). There is no charge for this event.

Our first event of the school year will be making buttons. Join us 2-4 pm Wednesday, Sept. 28, in the Student Life Center in Olmsted to learn how to make buttons. You’ll also learn more about what tools the Innovation Studio has available to students.

Where's the Innovation Studio going to be this year?

Construction has begun in Meredith Hall (you can see our space at the back of this photo), so we will be moving our equipment to the student workroom in Olmsted for the school year.

Are you looking for an activity to keep your kids busy this summer? We are partnering with Urbandale Parks and Rec to teach a Creativity and Innovation Camp July 26-27.

Campers will to try out 3D printing, program robots, create buttons, design stickers, carve with a CNC machine, heat-press t-shirts and more. Look for the camp under the youth programs area at the link below:

Come do something creative for your mental health before finals week. Join us from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday or Friday (Dec. 9-10).

We will have red, green and white wine bottles available. You can design and cut stickers to decorate them for the holidays. We have a limited number, so email [email protected] to reserve one.

We also will be firing up the Carvey to design tiles (see second photo).

Come experiment with Thymio robots 1-4 p.m. today in the Innovation Studio. Learn how they use sensors to navigate, explore different behaviors, or even program one to draw a picture. No robotics experience needed.

The Innovation Studio is located in Meredith Hall room 124C.
