On November 4, voters will decide if the $265 million dollar Reimagining Education Bond will pass. For Moore Elementary School, Reimagining Education means our students will get an even more engaging education, and their opportunities will increase:
Elementary Options
For elementary, Moore Elementary School families will be able to choose from their neighborhood school or a Signature School anywhere in the district. Nearby in the Northwest region, elementary students can attend the Cowles Montessori School or they will be able to choose the Moulton School, which will become a Signature School for the fine and performing arts.
Middle and High Options
For middle and high school, students will be able to choose neighborhood schools with new, modern career and technical education facilities, or they will be able to choose a Signature School. The Cowles Montessori School and the Moulton School will both go through eighth grade, and the Meredith/Hoover School will be a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) program for sixth through 12th grades.
Engaging, Personalized Learning
The plan introduces Diploma+, a program that provides students with hands-on learning opportunities throughout their journey from pre-K through graduation. Through Diploma+, Moore Elementary School students have access to rigorous, relevant, personalized learning pathways that are proven to increase graduation rates and prepare them for their futures.
For more information about the districtwide initiative, visit the Reimagining Education website.
Reimagining Education in the Des Moines Public Schools is a five-year plan to strengthen student outcomes and provide the best educational choices to prepare all students for successful futures.
Through future-focused education with hands-on learning in modern facilities, Signature Schools with career and technical education, STEM, health sciences, arts and Montessori approaches, and enhanced opportunities from preschool through graduation with Diploma+, our students will be uniquely positioned for success in their lives after graduation.
