Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

Miss Kuehmichel is the Teacher of the Day! She teaches the bigs, 7th grade through 9th grades! This is her fifth year at our school!

She is not only an amazing teacher, she is also our fearless principal! She works tirelessly to make sure our school is a well oiled machine!

Her family lives in Missouri, while she lives here in Des Moines! She has two cats, and a green thumb to rival anyone! She loves spending time outside, the sun is her best friend!

Mrs. Nicholas is the Teacher of the Day! She teaches the bigger littles, 1st - 4th grades! This is her eleventh year at our school!

She also teaches art and helps do all the media for the school! Mrs. Nicholas is a staple at DAS.

The Nicholas family lives in Bondurant, they have an underground zoo. With 3 dogs, a cat, and 2 guinea pigs. Her son is in 6th grade and her daughter is in 3rd grade! Her husband is an engineer here in the Des Moines area!

Miss Dini is the Teacher of the Day! She teaches the littles, pre-K and Kindergarten! This is her second year at our school!

This past October her, and her family, welcomed their baby girl! They also bought a new house, and live on the south-eastern side of Des Moines!

Her husband is the pastor of 3 churches here in Des Moines! She also has a daughter in 3rd grade!

Our Teacher of the Day is Miss Shelton! The biggest class award goes to Her! She is teaching the middles, 5th and 6th graders!

She is from Des Moines area, she graduated last year from Iowa State University! She is fun and out going!

Miss Shelton has a passion for teaching and loves organizing! She is rocking her first school year!

This week is Teacher Appreciation! We love our teachers, and want to show them some extra love this week!

They work more than expected to make sure that our students are not only excellent academically but also spiritually!

This is today!!! Come help out!

Work Bee, his SUNDAY, May 3 at 9:00 am here at the school!

The church and the school are working together to get some things done! The more people who come help, the faster we will get done!

🪨 we are getting new rocks for the playground! (Bring a rake or a shovel)
🛠️ we have a couple things around the building that needs to be fixed!
🧼 there will be cleaning jobs too!
And so much more!

Sabbath at the Des Moines Karen Seventh-Day Adventist! Fun to worship with others!

This Saturday for church… the Karen Church has invited us (our school) to do the education sabbath at their church!

So we need as many student as possible to come help us sing and worship there!
Luckily their church service is later, students will need to arrive at the church by 1:00 pm!
