Creative Kids Camp -Central Iowa

June is all about ice, water, art, cars, and balls! Activities will change each day and be modified for each child individually. Groups are small to allow for close attention for each child to make sure they are excelling at each activitiy. Make sure you message us to let us know who your child is, their interests, and which camp they are attending so we can make sure we have their interests included in the camp season.

Extension activities in June for 4-6yo: predicting what will happen with ice, writing/ drawing our findings, making a graph for ball throws and ice towers, finding material to help stack ice blocks, practicing pre-reading and reading skills, and working on basic soccer, softball, and basketball skills.

Babies and toddlers in June:
Sensory play/ art: paint, paper and ice in a bag
Exploration/ fine motor: melting a big block of ice with warm water using spray bottle, brushes, and small buckets
Large motor: throwing/ rolling/ kicking many different types of balls on the ground and down small slides, and ball races
Visual: drops of water on mirrors to touch/ move and watch
Songs: wheels on bus, baby shark, 5 little ducks
Free Play: different size cars, climbers, foam blocks, ball pit with slide, board books, ride in cars outside, and standard cause and effect toys.

June 28th: challenge your child's thinking with ice! We will explore ways to preserve ice outside and ways to melt ice and students will be ice fishing with salt! Students will also work on math/ literacy skills based on age/ ability. All children will work on their fine motor by rescuing pom poms from ice.

June 26th: 3-5year olds will be playing with ice, balls, and cars! Melting ice, painting with colored ice and painting on ice, building with ice and building/ decorating garages/ house for cars/ people, throwing ice/ balls (at targets not people), as well as building ramps to put ice, balls, and cars down. Songs: Big Red Car and Wheels on the Bus. Book: Maxi the Taxi *Ice will be in big safe chunks and children will be monitored closely as the groups are very small.

North Des Moines Location: If your curious, creative, energetic child would benefit from learning through guided play get them signed up for a group session or ask about a different day/time that better fits your schedule. Children ages 3+ have the choice of a play camp or a school/tutoring camp. Contact via phone number or Facebook messenger to sign up or ask questions! Indianola Location will have different days/camps scheduled.

Summer 2024 is going to be "drop in" mini camps available in Indianola and North Des Moines! Days/times/age groups will be decided soon!
