I’ve intentionally stepped away from social media the last couple of months and I’ve noticed such a positive effect on my mental health.✨ I’m spending more time living in the present (and not editing it), feeling all the feels (pain, anxiety, joy, peace, sadness and everything in between), slowly making my new house mine. I captured this photo at the cemetery when I visited my hometown last weekend. It perfectly encapsulates how I feel right now in the throes of winter and during this transitional time in my life - this juxtaposition of feeling acutely alive, and at the same time feeling dead inside; the beauty that’s just under the surface, but not quite within reach; hibernating because I’m not feeling capable of anything else, but knowing sun and warmth will open up all possibilities soon again.💜

We named her Trixie before we knew of her (approximate) birthday. We would pick Trix over any treats!! Happy #11, buggy! 🥳🎃🥳 (Ziggy the 🐝 insisted on photobombing. 🤭)

23 years ago (this very minute) I became your mom. My heart just gets fuller every year.💗You are my favorite person in this world, hands down. Your sense of humor makes me laugh and your sensitivity makes me cry. I can’t wait to experience more adventures with you and to see how you’re going to light up your corner of the world. ☀️ Happy birthday! I love, love, love you, !

Just another manic Sunday. 😂

I’m realizing Queen Elizabeth’s death and the anniversary of 9/11 have amped up in me extra gusto to live life to the fullest. Every day. Slowing down. Noticing everything. Even 96 years is too short of a time to be on this spinning carousel we call Earth.🎠

Thank you to the kind stranger from California who asked if we’d like a photo taken of us together (instead of our usual selfies). It was a thrill seeing the Acropolis through Max’s eyes for the first time. (and it might as well have been my first time - I remember nothing about my visit 30 years ago) I’ve heard from a few friends who have said Greece is on their bucket list and I say, don’t wait! Aside from Santorini (you just gotta suck it up and it’s worth it), accommodations, dining, shopping is SO reasonable. The people are incredibly warm and friendly and it’s really impossible to have a bad meal. I’m happy to share details, experiences and recommendations. Packing up our suitcase to prepare for a 3 am (!) taxi to the airport for home…it’s a lot heavier than when we came, but our hearts and souls are lighter. 🤍🤍 We love you, 🇬🇷.

The most iconic Naxos sight - the Portara - a huge marble gate and the single remaining part of an unfinished temple of Apollo of 530 BC. Maybe the idea of something being finished is overrated.🤔 This was truly a breathtaking sight.

Head over heels in 💙 with Santorini!

As we were jet skiing off Santorini, Max said it felt like we were in a Bond movie, and it’s so true! It felt so outrageous and adventurous. I know this sounds a bit morbid, but on my deathbed, I’m going to go back to that feeling and those visuals and die a happy woman - grabbing tight to my son, feeling the spray of the blue sea and the sparkling sun stinging my eyes. ✨💙✨
