Calling all Speech Therapy families! If your family has used speech therapy for any of your kiddos, or if you are thinking it may be time to seek out some speech therapy, this Metro Meetup is for you!
We will have Sarah Ruth, a JouJou parent, and Speech and Language Pathologist at JouJou starting at 10:30am this Tuesday! She is the speech pathology director at Iowa ENT Center in West Des Moines, working closely with our Ear Nose and Throat physicians to assess and treat patients with upper airway, voice, swallowing, craniofacial, and speech needs.
Come ask Sarah any of your questions, as she loves teaching others about the field of speech pathology.
If you are coming specifically for Meetup, let us know, and you will get a $3 discount on admission!

All families are welcome at JouJou Tuesday, we are just providing a special opportunity for NICU families.
We are hosting some of our favorite local resources, Brittney, Laura and Annie!
Brittney works at in their Center for Advocacy & Outreach, there she focuses on childbirth and postpartum education, where she regularly connects parents with support groups and resources for their mental health.

Amanda here on Mothers Day 🖤 Earlier this week was Maternal Mental Health Day, and last week we listened to Taylor Wolfe share her journey into motherhood and the fragile moments that exist between the day-to-day.
To get ready for Taylor’s chat, we asked you all to share “advice” about being in a “busy season” - and there was a theme:
- “tell other moms you see how hard they’re working”
- “let them know that every phase doesn’t have to be a favorite, and that’s ok”
- “don’t be afraid to share that you struggled too”
- “do a little thing - hold open a door.”
Taking care of each other - other moms - in our most vulnerable moments, was some of the most beautiful advice we received.
So thank you to all our Mothers today, who see each other in moments where we maybe don’t see ourselves as clearly.

As both a birthday present, Mother’s Day present and as a way to encourage rest for ourselves before summer begins, we continue our tradition of closing for the Sundays in May.
