To be the new boy/girl/kid/teacher at your school can be intimidating, regardless of grade. Part of it is the excitement of the unknown, and another part is worrying over the unfamiliar or different.

As a Charter Public School that is open to ALL, Horizon Science Academy would like to salute all who recently joined us. For this week, we will highlight and welcome our new students, staff, teachers, and members of the community who will help shape the course of the year.

This time is for all of us, and one day we hope to look back and remember this time as the moment we launched towards greatness and success, together!

Families… Horizon science Academy will be closing at 10 AM today due to a Watermain break in the area. We have no water so this also includes no after school care today. When you arrive to school, we will be doing an inside dismissal and we will radio your students to come out as you arrive. Thank you so much for your support and apologize for any inconvenience.

What an exciting first day at Horizon science Academy! We loved seeing our new students, returning students, and families fill our building with energy and excitement!🎉
 Our incredible staff has been working hard to lay the foundation for a successful school year by building relationships, teaching expectations, and getting students engaged through Kagan strategies and collaborative learning. 🧩⭐️ #
Today was just the beginning, and we already seen so much potential for an amazing year of learning, growth, and connection. We can’t wait to see all that our hawks accomplished this year!

🎉🎉 First Day of Kindergarten 🎉🎉
What a GREAT first day of kindergarten Hawks 💙🧡 we are so proud of our students for following Teacher directions, walking and quiet lines, and learning all about our classroom, recess, and lunchroom expectations.
Our kindergartners came ready to learn, make new friends, and be HAWKS! 🦅🎒 we are excited for all of the learning and fun ahead this year!
 Way to go, kindergarten! You made your first day, a GREAT one! 🎉🧡💙

What a wonderful Unpack Your Backpack Night! 🎒💙🧡
We loved meeting our new families, reconnecting with our returning families, and seeing so much excitement throughout our school! We are ready to make this a fantastic school year! 🦅
Kindergarten starts TODAY! 🎉 Kindergarten will have a 1:00 dismissal today, and we’ll see everyone tomorrow at 7:40 as we officially kick off the 2026-2027 school year!

HSA PTO is a volunteer organization made up of families and staff working together to support HSA.

•• UNIFORM SWAP ••

If your child has outgrown their HSA green uniforms or Kahki/tan bottoms of all styles please consider donating them to our uniform swap. We will be collecting donations on Monday, August 17th from 10-2pm. Please drop off in the front office.

HSA PTO will have a table with used uniforms, khaki/tan bottoms, and HSA sweatshirts available. If you donate any you will get to come from 4-4:15pm at the beginning of Backpack Night on Tuesday and get first dibs of your choice. We’re going to start with giving each student one green HSA polo and one pair of Kahki bottoms unless we get an over abundance of donations(which is what we’re hoping for 😁). We know it can get expensive buying uniforms and we want to make sure every student has one and feels comfortable at school. Please make sure your used informs are CLEAN and without tears or many stains. When you bring in your donations you will sign a paper in the front office that way we know you donated and can shop from 4-4:15pm on Tuesday. After 4:15 anyone is welcome to get one polo and one kahki per student. Look for your HSA PTO table at Backpack Night right inside the main doors!

Thank you SO much to everyone who came out tonight and supported our Chick-fil-A fundraiser, we had an amazing turn out!! It was so good seeing everyone and meeting new families!
