Rose had a fantastic first lesson with us last week, and we're so happy to have her joining our studio community!

Rose is already involved in theater and is excited to pursue even more performance opportunities. She also loves singing pop music, giving us lots of great material to explore as we work on building her vocal technique and developing her voice.

We look forward to helping Rose prepare for future auditions and productions, explore the music she loves, and continue growing as both a singer and performer.

🎙️ Recording Camp Day One! 🩵

Three singers stepped into Chase Productions today, and each walked out with a recording that was completely and uniquely their own.

That's part of what makes Recording Camp such a great experience. Our singers aren't simply stepping up to a microphone and singing a song - they get to learn about the recording process from all angles, make creative choices, listen back, make adjustments, and experience what goes into creating a finished track.

Each of today's singers chose something special to them, including Harper, who recorded the National Anthem! She'll be submitting her finished recording to local sporting venues as she auditions for opportunities to perform the Anthem at games and events. 🎤🇺🇸 Livvie rewrote lyrics to a popular song for someone special to her and Cadence recorded her own renditions of Landslide and Wildflower.

There was plenty of hard work happening in the studio today, but also plenty of laughter, creativity, and excitement as our singers heard their recordings come together.

We are so proud of all three of them and the work they put in today!

And a huge thank you to Jon at Chase Productions for continuing to give our singers such a fabulous professional recording experience. After more than 20 years of working together, I am endlessly grateful for the knowledge, encouragement, and care he brings to every Voice Studio singer who steps behind his microphone. 🩵🎙️

Recording Camp continues Saturday, and we can't wait to do it all again!

What a whirlwind, ridiculously delightful couple of days in NYC! 🩵🎭

I drove into the city with family/students to see Heathers, and after the show we spent some time with Zan in the theater before watching her head out the stage door to greet the crowd waiting for her.

I could watch that video on an endless loop.

Because THIS is the thing they work for. The job. Eight shows a week. Performing at this level night after night - and walking out the stage door to find people waiting for your autograph because they just watched you do the thing you've spent years working toward.

I was DELIGHTED.

The next day, I saw The Book of Mormon, where Purdy, who plays Elder Smith, had very generously put me on the backstage list.

Fun fact: Zan and Purdy are both Walnut Hill School for the Arts Class of 2016 graduates and friends. Now one is killing it Off-Broadway and the other on Broadway, just a few blocks apart every night.

Come ON. 🩵

I'm obsessed with The Book of Mormon, so I absolutely fangirled backstage. I looked at props, stood on the stage staring out at the theater, caught up with Purdy and told him how fantastic he was, and loved seeing another Walnut all grown up and living his dream on Broadway.

Then came possibly the funniest moment of my trip.

Walking toward the stage door, I asked Purdy if I should go out another way.

"No, Auntie. Greet the fans."

SIR. 😂

So I walked straight out the Broadway stage door and greeted the waiting crowd as though I had contributed literally anything to the performance they'd just seen.

I can only assume several mildly perplexed people thought, "Maybe she was in the pit?"

Two Walnut Hill graduates. Two hit NYC shows. Two young people I love with my whole heart out there doing the thing.

I smiled the whole train ride home.

And yes, I greeted the fans. 😂🩵🎭

Warm-Up Wins! 🩵🎶

Warm-ups aren't just something we do before we get to the songs - they're an important part of the work we do to build strong, flexible, healthy voices.

Throughout lessons, we use vocal exercises to develop technique, increase range and flexibility, strengthen breath support, work through transitions, and help our singers understand what their voices can do.

And lately, these kids have been CRUSHING it. 🙌

Whether it's reaching a new note, navigating an exercise that used to feel tricky, discovering more freedom in their voice, or realizing, "Wait... I can DO that!" - those little wins add up.

Then we take all of that work and bring it into the music. 🎤

Please join us in welcoming Zoie to The Voice Studio! 🩵🎶

Zoie is one of Miss Tracy's newest students and a competitor in the Miss New Hampshire's Teen Scholarship Program.

We're so excited to have her in the studio as she works toward her vocal, performance, and pageant goals! Lessons with Miss Tracy will give Zoie the opportunity to continue strengthening her voice, explore song selections that showcase her best, and fine-tune her performance preparation as she pursues her pageant goals.

We can't wait to watch Zoie grow, accomplish new goals, and see where this next chapter takes her.

Today was a delightful day for a Farmers Market performance in Derry! 🩵🎶

Eleven Voice Studio singers joined us at the Derry Homegrown Farm & Artisan Market today, performing during musician, Matt Litzinger's set breaks and filling the afternoon with even more live music.

We had singers of all ages taking the stage, families spending the afternoon together, visits to some of our favorite market vendors, and plenty of fun between performances.

And of course, we made sure to point our Voice Studio families toward our favorite tent, Lush Confections. They’re absurdly good and I believe everyone should experience them... provided they leave a bag for me. 😂🍪

We are endlessly proud of our singers! Throughout the afternoon, I received so many compliments from shoppers and vendors about their performances - and let me tell you, voice teachers do NOT get tired of hearing other people tell us how wonderful our students are. 😊🩵

We love giving our students opportunities to take what they've been working on in the studio and bring it out into our community, and they did such a fantastic job today!

Thank you to the Derry Homegrown Farm & Artisan Market for inviting our singers to be part of the day, to Matt Litzinger who was wonderful to listen to and so kind to share his equipment with us, and to everyone who stopped to listen!

There’s a first time for everything... and Bella absolutely crushed this one! 🩵🎤

Bella took the stage for her very first pageant and performed “The Greatest Love of All” for the talent competition with a confidence and stage presence far beyond her years.

And that makes this performance even sweeter.

At Bella's very first Voice Studio recital, around age 5, she was so nervous that when it was time to sing, she couldn't quite start on her own.

Look at her now. 🩵

Watching that confidence grow has been incredible. The little girl who once needed some extra support to begin her song now walks onto a stage, takes command of it, and performs like she owns it.

Her first pageant gave her another brand-new stage to step onto - and she absolutely crushed it.

Congratulations, Bella! We are ridiculously proud of the confident young performer you're becoming, and we can't wait to see what you decide to take on next. 👑🎶
