Winter Athletics Registration is OPEN! 🏀 🏊‍♂️ 🤼

Registration for the 2026–2027 winter athletic season opens today, October 12, 2026, for all Derry Area student-athletes in grades 7–12!

As a reminder, Derry Area uses BOUND for athletic registration. Families can create participation profiles, upload and manage required forms, and access schedules, announcements, and updates—with mobile app access for convenience!

🩺 WINTER SPORTS PHYSICALS

Boys and girls physicals will be held Monday, November 9, 2026, beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the Middle School Nurse’s Office.

Physicals are first come, first served and will conclude when the last physical is completed.

Please bring:

• Completed PIAA Section 5 Health History Form
• Blank PIAA Section 6 Physical Examination Form

Your athletic physical must have been completed after May 1, 2026, to count for athletics.

🧠 CONCUSSION BASELINE TESTING

All sessions begin at 3:00 p.m.

• November 12: High School Boys Basketball
• November 13: High School Girls Basketball
• November 16: High School Boys & Girls Wrestling
• November 17: Middle School Boys & Girls Wrestling
• November 18: Middle School Boys Basketball
• November 19: All-Sports Makeup Session

Testing is required for all 7th, 9th, and 11th graders, as well as students who have not completed a baseline test within the past two years.

Please report to the Athletic Training Room before 3:00 p.m. Students will then proceed to a computer lab. Testing takes approximately 30 minutes, and no paperwork is required.

Swimming: Swimmers do not need baseline testing. Divers will be tested as needed.

🏈 TROJANS HEAD TO DEER LAKES FOR HOMECOMING! 🏈

Derry Area Football travels to Deer Lakes this Friday, September 25, for a 7:30 PM matchup against the Lancers.
Deer Lakes will be celebrating Homecoming, so we wanted to share some important information with our Derry Area families and fans who plan to attend.

🎉 Homecoming Parade – 6:00 PM
The parade will begin at Deer Lakes Middle School and travel down East Union Road to Lancer Stadium.

🚧 Important Road Closure:
East Union Road will be closed to traffic from approximately 5:45–6:45 PM due to the parade. Please plan accordingly if you are traveling to the game.

👑 Homecoming Coronation – 7:05 PM
🏈 Derry Area vs. Deer Lakes – 7:30 PM

🅿️ Parking Information
Parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning with the stadium parking lot and extending to the high school parking lot.

Once those lots are full, fans will be directed to:

📍 No Offseason Sports Parking Lot
904 Little Deer Valley Road
Russellton, PA 15076

🚌 Shuttle Service: 4:30 PM until 30 minutes after the game

We encourage all Trojan fans traveling to Deer Lakes to allow extra time due to the parade and road closure.

Congratulations to Melody Ann Marsh, who became Derry Area’s first-ever WPIAL Section Singles Champion with her victory today! 💙💛

We also congratulate Melissa Polinsky on an impressive third-place finish in the WPIAL Section Singles Tournament!

With their outstanding performances, Melody and Melissa are the first pair of Derry Area athletes to qualify for the WPIAL AA Singles Tennis Tournament!
