We’re Hiring a Strength & Conditioning Coach! 💪️‍🏋️🏃‍♂️

We are looking for a dedicated coach to inspire and train our student-athletes to reach their full potential!

📌 Qualifications:
✅ High School Diploma (Bachelor’s Preferred)
✅ 3+ years of coaching or fitness experience
✅ Knowledge of weight program design & lifting techniques
✅ Certifications or degree in strength/conditioning (or ability to obtain)
✅ Ability to demonstrate proper lifting techniques
✅ Available after 2:55 PM (Mon–Thu) & possibly before school hours (6:00 AM)

🚨 UPDATED Concussion Baseline Testing Schedule 🚨

Please note the following updated baseline testing schedule for Derry Area student-athletes:

🎾 HS Girls Tennis — Monday, July 27 | 4:00–6:00 PM
📣 HS & MS Cheer — Tuesday, July 28 | 4:00–6:00 PM
🏐 HS Girls Volleyball — Wednesday, July 29 | 4:00–6:00 PM
⚽ HS & MS Boys and Girls Soccer (Rescheduled) — Thursday, July 30 | 4:00–6:00 PM

📌 Please Note:
• ⛳ Golf does NOT require baseline testing.
• 🏀 Middle School Basketball baseline testing dates will be announced once school begins.

Baseline testing is REQUIRED for:
✔️ All 7th, 9th, and 11th grade student-athletes
✔️ Any athlete who has not completed baseline testing within the last two years

If you are unsure whether your athlete needs testing, please contact the Athletic Trainer.

📍 Athletes should report to the Athletic Training Room prior to their scheduled testing time and will then be escorted to a computer lab. Testing takes approximately 30 minutes, and no paperwork is required beforehand.

🏆 Congratulations, Max Doherty!

Derry Area is proud to celebrate Max Doherty on being named the Latrobe Bulletin–Independence Health System Male Athlete of the Year!

Max's outstanding accomplishments as a student-athlete, combined with his dedication in the classroom and commitment to representing Derry Area with pride, have earned him this well-deserved honor. He was recognized during a special presentation at Independence Health System's The Square at Latrobe, where he received a plaque and a $1,000 scholarship.

Congratulations, Max, on this incredible achievement! Your hard work, leadership, and commitment have made the entire Trojan community proud.

The Derry Area boys proudly represented the Trojans this week at the 2026 SCTP National Championships at the Cardinal Center in Marengo, Ohio, competing in 200 targets of American S***t.

🎯 Reed Razza shot a 92/100 on the first day and an outstanding 98/100 on the second day, finishing with a total score of 190/200. Reed, it has been a pleasure coaching you. We are going to miss you and wish you all the best as you continue your academic and shooting career at Kent State University.

🎯 Haydan Hood shot a 93/100 on day one and a 95/100 on day two, finishing with a strong total score of 188/200. Congratulations on a great performance at nationals! We look forward to watching you have an outstanding senior season next year.

Congratulations to both athletes for representing Derry Area with pride on the national stage. We couldn't be more proud of your accomplishments and the way you represented our school.

💙💛 Congratulations to Derry Area's Haley Glitsky on earning a spot on Team USA!

This incredible achievement is a testament to Haley's hard work, dedication, and countless hours of practice. We are so proud to see a Trojan representing our community on the international stage.

Best of luck as you compete wearing the red, white, and blue—we'll all be cheering you on!

We're excited to share some of the eye-catching updates happening to the gym entrance and lobby as we prepare to welcome students, athletes, and fans back for the new school year. These improvements help create a space that reflects the pride and tradition of Derry Area Athletics while giving our facilities a fresh new feel.
