Pinkerton Academy recently welcomed our brand new Director of Library and Media Services, Ms. Evelyn Pratt! 📚 Since joining the Pinkerton community, she has already made a significant impact on our students. 🤩

Dr. Powers sat down with Ms. Pratt to discuss her vision for the Saltmarsh Library and how she has been adjusting to the Pinkerton environment! ⭐️

Freshman Reception 🪩🕺⭐️

The Class of 2030 attended their Freshman Reception, planned by the Class of 2027! The night was full of music, dancing, food, and fun! 🤩

As tradition, freshmen are welcomed to Pinkerton with cheers, clapping, and high fives as they enter the reception. It’s always a highlight of the evening to see everyone’s smiling faces and amazing outfits as they make their way through the crowd! 🫶

That same evening, Pinkerton’s newest staff and faculty members attended the New Staff and Faculty Dinner, where they helped chaperone the event before enjoying desserts and drinks in the Senior Cafe, catered by the Junior Class Office! ❤️

Club Spotlight: Dance Club 💫🩰

Dance Club is an organization for Pinkerton students who enjoy dancing and choreographing routines. Meetings are held on Tuesdays from 2–3 PM in the Black Box Dance Studio, where students learn choreography and plan upcoming events for the Academy’s dance program. 🙌

Students also have opportunities to perform their own choreography in annual showcases held once each semester in the Stockbridge Theatre! 🤩

During this meeting, new and returning members came together to learn a lyrical combination choreographed and taught by senior Sophia Slivinsky. Dance Club provides opportunities for dancers to learn from their peers, while giving seniors the chance to develop their choreography and build their leadership skills. ⭐️

Did you know that students can earn math credits within some of our CTE courses? Math teachers work alongside our electrical and welding teachers to reinforce the mathematical concepts students use while learning these trades.

Dr. Powers got to see the learning in action last week when he stopped by the welding lab. Check out the real-world connections students make as they tackle a math lesson in welding class!
