This morning, we celebrated students who consistently show RESPECT to others!

Our Character Strong Trait of the Month for September reminds us that respect means treating others with kindness, listening to different perspectives, using good manners, and showing that we value the people around us.

We are so proud of these Husky students for the way they demonstrate respect and help make Park Hill a place where everyone feels valued and included!

Way to go, Huskies! Keep showing that Husky respect! 💙🐾

On Friday, Ms. Pignataro's class won the Green Helmet Award for earning the most Pack Points in the building for the week! As part of their reward, students got to take a picture with some of the Derby High School football players AND received tickets to the October 9 Homecoming football game!

So, what are Pack Points? Classes earn points for:
• Showing good behavior
• Having all students in class on time
• Having great attendance throughout the week
• Having 100% of students turn in Partner Practice

Keep up the great work!

Kindergarten Scientists in Action: Students in Miss Nickel’s Kindergarten class wrapped up their science unit this past week. They have been learning all about how they can change the motion of an object and had so much fun putting their learning into action.

To finish the unit, our little scientists worked with partners to design their very own mini golf holes. Their challenge was to figure out how to get the ball in one hole and out the other using only ONE hit.

Students had to think carefully about how the design of their course would change the ball’s motion. They worked together, tested their ideas, made adjustments, and had a great time designing their mini golf holes.

We are so proud of these little scientists and all the creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving they showed throughout this unit!

Kindergarten had so much fun celebrating Apple Week last week!

Our students had the opportunity to explore apples in a variety of hands-on ways. We experimented with apples, made our very own applesauce, tasted apple juice, and created some fun apple crafts.

It was a great week full of learning, exploring, and trying new things. We loved watching our kindergarteners use their senses, ask questions, and enjoy learning all about apples!

WE WANT THAT TITLE! 🏆

Park Hill is in a district-wide competition with the other elementary schools, and we have our eyes on the Pull Tab Champion title!

Start saving those aluminum pull tabs from your soda, soup, vegetable, and pet-food cans and send them to school. Every single tab counts toward our total!

Let’s see what the Husky family can do. Fill our collection containers and help us bring home the Pull Tab Champion title!
