I am sorry to inform fellow classmates of the passing of Dorothy Wallace Mazilly.

Celebration of Dottie's life will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Masonic Cemetery, with Rev. Jerry Crise officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy starting at 11:00am until the procession to the cemetery.

I am sorry to inform you that we have lost another 1961 classmate:

DORTHA'S OBITUARY
Dortha Ann Banken was born November 22, 1943 in DeQuincy, LA and passed away at her residence in Sulphur on September 16, 2020. She was employed as a nurse working in the Emergency Room at Christus Saint Patrick's Hospital, Lake Charles Louisiana and as a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager at Conoco Phillips.
She is survived by her brothers, John William Banken and wife, Donna of Bridge City, Texas and J. C. Banken and wife, Cathy of DeQuincy, LA along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents Virgil Henry Banken and Letha Marcantel Banken and one brother, Marlin Marcantel.
The memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 West Fourth Street, DeQuincy, La. Interment to follow at Perkins Cemetery, DeQuincy, La.

My friend of 67 years , Sharon Kay Rozas, is now with the Lord. Oh how I miss her already, our phone talks every day, but I know she’s no longer suffering & she’s at peace

I regret to inform you of the passing of one of our classmates and friends, Larry Overton. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

OBITUARY
Larry Leon Overton, formerly of DeQuincy, Louisiana was born October 27, 1943 in Ada, Oklahoma and passed away June 1, 2020 at his residence in Orange, Texas at the age of 76.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Stanley Overton; sons, Kurt Overton of Galveston, Texas, Karl Overton and wife, Jeniffer of DeQuincy and stepson, Elton Clark of DeQuincy; three grandchildren, Kara Vincent and husband Garrett of DeQuincy, Kade Overton and wife, Lauren of DeQuincy and Kyra Leighanne Clark of Orange, TX and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Susie Overton Burns of Shreveport, LA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Leon Overton and Beatrice Golightly Overton.
The family will receive friends 9 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 3rd at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 West Fourth Street, DeQuincy, La. and the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Riley Smith Memorial Park, DeQuincy, Louisiana.
