🦸‍♂️🚒👩‍🍳Dramatic play isn’t just for inside!🌳☀️🛝

Who says you need four walls to let your imagination run wild?! From superheroes saving the day and firefighters coming to the rescue to little chefs cooking up something delicious, our outdoor play turns into BIG adventures!

Through dramatic play, children build creativity, problem-solving skills, language, cooperation, and confidence while exploring different roles and making sense of the world around them. Sometimes the best classroom has no ceiling at all!

At Head Start, learning happens everywhere—even in the middle of a superhero rescue or a pretend kitchen!

On 10/7 we had our annual fire safety demonstration with the Deposit Fire Department! This is always one of the children's favorite days each year. Thank you so much to the Deposit Fire Department for coming again this year and teaching us more about what it means to be a firefighter, fire safety and the always exciting fire truck and ambulance exploration.

This year, we will be working on planning a field trip to the fire station in the spring.

On 10/2/26, we had our first science experiment Friday of the school year! For our science experiment we explored baking soda and vinegar asking questions like "What does it feel like? Does it have a smell? What does it look like?"utilizing our senses.

We missed the video of the children exploring the vinegar but they were not fans of the smell 😜 They also were confused at why it smells so awful but looks like water.

Then we got to try and guess what will happen when we mix the two together before each of the children took a turn dumping the vinegar into the baking soda to cause the chemical reaction.

Our next science experiment must be done on Thursday since we are closed Friday! Stay tuned for the next exciting science experiment.

🍂🐞 **Nature Creatures!** 🌿🦋

A big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our Nature Creatures Family Engagement Activity! 💚

Families started the fun at home by exploring outside and collecting natural treasures to bring to school. On Monday, we put those treasures to use and created our very own Nature Creatures!

We loved watching everyone’s creativity come to life and seeing how a simple activity could connect home, school, nature, and family. ❤️

Thank you for making this activity so special!
