At KIPP Colorado, we know students thrive when they know that they belong. Every student deserves to be seen, celebrated, and supported for exactly who they are. When that happens, they’re empowered to learn, lead, and pursue their biggest dreams.

This month, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ students, educators, alumni, families, and staff who make our schools stronger, brighter, and more welcoming every day.

Pride is also a chance to reflect on Colorado’s role in LGBTQ+ history. In 1996, the landmark Supreme Court case Romer v. Evans began right here in Colorado and became the first ruling to affirm constitutional protections against discrimination based on sexual orientation—a pivotal moment in the fight for equality.

As we close out AANHPI Heritage Month, we reflect on and celebrate the countless contributions Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders have made to our shared history and communities. 💙

We’re especially proud to celebrate alongside Maria Mun, the incredible principal of KNE, as she completes her FIRST year leading our youngest KIPPsters with heart, dedication, and tireless commitment every single day. Thank you, Principal Mun, for the love and leadership you bring to our school community! 🌟

🥊Gustavo, an 11th grader at KIPP Northeast Denver Leadership Academy, is now the 2026 Colorado State Golden Gloves Champion in his division! 🏆

“It felt good—I was SO excited to win.”

Gustavo’s journey to the top was built on over a year of hard training, dedication to sprints and sparring, and a deep commitment to discipline. With the support of his coach and family, he stayed focused and prepared every step of the way.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Gustavo, not just as a champion in the ring, but as a standout KIPP student and rising athlete in Colorado. 💪🔥

This week, our came together in Washington, D.C. for Spring Federal Advocacy Week to meet with federal Colorado lawmakers to make sure the voices of students, families, and educators are heard where it matters most.

We had the opportunity to meet with U.S. Senator Michael Bennet and other Colorado representatives to speak directly about what our students need: safe schools, stronger mental health support, and the resources to help every student succeed.

Spring Federal Advocacy Week continues to be one of our most powerful tools for change and we’re proud to keep showing up and speaking out.
