J.Koon's Craft

Without the sacrifices our veterans made and make every single day our country would not be the greatest country in the world. Thank you to all who have served and the families of them, we are forever indebted to your bravery. God bless

Thank You, Jennifer Koon! 🇺🇸

DAV Chapter 28 would like to thank Jennifer Koon of Denver, Indiana, and her nonprofit, the Northern Miami Preservation Society, for their generous donation and support of our chapter.

The donation came through the Denver Days Bike Fundraiser, an event raising awareness for veteran and American mental health, with proceeds split with the Nickel Plate Trail.

Jennifer serves as President of the newly formed Northern Miami Preservation Society, and we appreciate her support of DAV Chapter 28 and the veterans we serve throughout North Central Indiana.

Thank you, Jennifer and the Northern Miami Preservation Society, for supporting our veterans and our community!

Exciting News Folks

As quoted from the Denver Tribune March 1897 "We need your help making the Tribune a success, did you ever stop and think how much good you can do to our town by speaking a good word for it whenever and wherever the opportunity? Good words cost nothing and their influence is immeasurable." Northern Miami Preservation Society's first official board meeting was Friday Sept 4th (Jennifer Koon, Lynette Smith & Megan Gipson), officially filed with the Secretary of State as a NonProfit and received certificate Sept 8th. The goal? Preserve and restore the old Knights & Ladies of the Maccabees Hall, to use the upstairs as a partial museum and event space. With grants, donations and fundraisers raised through the coming years, our history will once again bring gratitude to the hustle and bustle downtown Denver once was. All of the surrounding communities show an immense support for one another, it's inspiring. Special thanks to Michelle Meyers (current owner) who has been an amazing person to work with to make our dreams come true! I'm beyond excited to learn more and take in as much history as I can get! We've connected with the Peru Museum, submitted the building to the national Historic Registry & other organizations are on the list. If anyone has tips, stories, comments, questions. Please feel free to contact us. Here is a link to our online fundraiser if you cannot attend our fundraisers but would like to contribute a donation, thank you so much!
