To Little Mama Day Care Parents:
As a parent and child care provider I appreciate anyone who sounds a legitimate alarm when they see a child being mistreated. We all must have a concern for the welfare of those who are not in a position defend themselves. While we have a responsibility to sound the alarm we also have an equal responsibility to make sure that what we are saying is factual and true.
There was a post to this page that accused me of being a repeat offender who mistreats kids. As most of you know, I have been a day care provider for over 15 years. In those years I have never had complaint that was founded to be true or accurate.
The post stated that kids were standing and were not wearing seat belts as I left the pool. This is not true. I personally placed smaller kids were in booster seats and car seats. I instructed older kids to put their seat belt on. I made sure all kids were seated before I left.
The post also stated that I threatened to leave kids in the van. What I believe the person heard was me telling a child to leave her lunch in the van.
The post further stated that I told a child to bring your a** back. Again, you know me and my work. For those of you who do not know me personnally, I do not use foul language towards kids. What I believe the person heard was me tell an older child to bring ZoZo back here. Those who know me know that ZoZo is my grandchild who is a typical two year old and is full of energy.
I understand the power of social media. I read business reviews myself and form an opinion of the business based upon the review I read. With that said, this response was not to the parents who know me personnally. This response is to the parents and potential parents who do not know me. I value my name and the reputation of my business in the community. My life's work is to love, teach, and guide children. I will not do anything to harm them.
