In 2023 $2.7 BILLION dollars was refunded to Colorado taxpayers and about $85,000 was donated using ReFUND. That leaves a lot of money on the table for your nonprofit to utilize in the amazing services.

Introducing New AFP Board Member Blake Nauman, CFRE Nauman, At-Large, Director Philanthropy Manager, Denver Rescue Mission
Years as an AFP Member: I have been a member of AFP for over 8 years. It was a natural part of my career development at Denver Rescue Mission, and I was blessed by an organization who prioritizes all that AFP offers to better our work and organization.
Favorite part of being a fundraiser? My favorite part of fundraising is the education that happens for so many around issues that many are aware of, but not well versed in. I believe that education breeds passion, and it is that passion that leads to transformational investment in organizations and causes. Watching a donor have “a-ha” moments and in those moments, realize the magnitude and impact that happens because of their support is one of the greatest joys in my career. The “I never knew” or “I didn’t know you do so much” response is a joy, because it is in that discovery that so many find their niche or passion point for transformational investment. I am grateful, for the amazing individuals and families that have trusted me with education in their lives and these points of passion for furthering the work we do and see lives impacted because of it.
What has been your favorite AFP Colorado moment? AFP ICON New Orleans was a pivotal opportunity for AFP and me. Although I had been a member for years and attended multiple AFP ICON conferences, I didn’t connect with our local chapter. However, this past year, I attended our Colorado networking dinner at the conference. It was such a blessing to realize the amazing connections that were right in my back door. I met many people who have become great partners and friends. I also learned about ways to be an active member with AFP Colorado. Of course, the conference was a blessing in and of itself, but it took me leaving the state to realize what was already at my fingertips and dove into all the great work here in Colorado.
