20 years ago this week, Rosedale Elementary School closed its doors after almost 80 years of operation. In 2024, Rosedale Elementary celebrated 100 years as the main original building opened in 1924. Today, the Rosedale school building is run as St. John Paul the Great Catholic High School in the original building.

I’m voting “No” on this! Denver kids deserve better! The district was smart to save their announcement to close schools until after this vote to build more. If DPS wanted more schools, you shouldn't have closed/ sold Gove, or Rosedale, or Stevens, or Smedley.

Even though Rosedale Elementary School is gone, the memories we have and the people we met will always be there with us. We love you Rosedale. ❤️

I do report tonight with both bad and good news, DPS is going to lease Rosedale to the archdiocese with a contract, unfortunately it will no longer be a public school run by DPS, I have been informed that the additions will be torn down but the main historic 1924 part will not be torn down. (Unconfirmed)

Just remember, this building is a part of a lot of people's history, this building is a mainstay in a very vital neighborhood in South Denver, it is very important to preserve our history so we can learn from it and remember it, none of the memories will be forgotten that had taken place I was still over it's almost 100-year history.

Personally it's why I fell in love with education and I fell in love with the neighborhood and history, we should always fight to preserve what we have so it doesn't fade from anyone's memories and life's.

Thank you Rosedale Elementary School, for the love, for the years, and all of the adventures and memories you have made with this community and students.

Due to a trend of dangerously high rates outside of schools in many parts of Denver, we are making the difficult decision to shift all grades and programs to remote learning, beginning on Monday, Nov. 30 through the winter break.
