First grade has been learning about the different features animals have, and how those features help the animals survive. What better way to learn about animal ear features than by making our own?!

I've created a DonorsChoose list in hopes of incorporating some ChompSaw kits into my classroom! These child safe cardboard saws will help my students independently bring their wildest engineering plans to life, by allowing them to cut more complex shapes from their building materials completely unassisted.

Our Little Warriors learned about absorbency yesterday by testing different materials to see which ones absorbed the most water, and which ones repelled liquid.

I've been really bad about taking pictures this rotation 🫣 Red rotation kicked off our last PLTW modules for the year... here's a little bit of what they've been up to!

6th grade: learning about patterns in our solar system with stars, our moon, and Earth's rotation
5th grade: learned all about the water cycle and how it works... and even created their own water cycle with their terrariums!
3rd grade: have been learning about weather hazards, and finished up with a hands on project designing and building structures that could resist flood damage
2nd grade: have been learning about living things, what they need for survival, and their habitats. They also grew some grass in varying conditions to determine what helps plants grow the best!

Orange rotation gets to have their turn with the fun next week, and I can't wait to see what they accomplish! ❤️

Last week my littlest scientists got to experiment with solids, liquids, and changes in matter. Their task was to use water to melt their ice cubes in order to find their hidden gemstones. They had so much fun with this, and made some awesome discoveries about how their different forms of water changed!

My 5th grade class has spent the last few days working really hard to program their own clicker games... today we visited our kindergarten friends to let them test out the games they made! They all did such a great job!
