Our first rotation of specials went so well! Here's a peek at what we've been working on these last 3 weeks:

6th grade- discussed how diseases spread and practiced creating and using computer models to ethically simulate the spread of communicable diseases
4th grade- explored energy and energy transfer through various centers including solar panels, a hand cranked generator, potato battery circuits, and some marble track races
3rd grade- tracked weather factors to make predictions, learned what causes natural disasters, and brainstormed how to reduce the impact of a flood
2nd grade- learned about states of matter, experimented with different materials and their ability to conduct or insulate, and designed their own creations to keep a popsicle frozen in the sun

Next week brings a brand new schedule full of faces, and I'm so excited for what we'll learn and discover together! ❤️

HANDS DOWN my new favorite thing in my classroom for project days... BeaverBots! These make cutting cardboard, and cutting it into more precise shapes, so much easier and safer than scissors!

My room is packed, and Mrs.Calfee is signing off for the summer! I hope you all have a fabulous vacation, and I already can't wait to see my favorite Warriors again in August!

First grade has been learning about the different features animals have, and how those features help the animals survive. What better way to learn about animal ear features than by making our own?!

I've created a DonorsChoose list in hopes of incorporating some ChompSaw kits into my classroom! These child safe cardboard saws will help my students independently bring their wildest engineering plans to life, by allowing them to cut more complex shapes from their building materials completely unassisted.

Our Little Warriors learned about absorbency yesterday by testing different materials to see which ones absorbed the most water, and which ones repelled liquid.
