This week our second graders had so much fun exploring the three states of matter-solid, liquid, and gas! We used a candle to observe how heat can change a solid into a liquid, talked about how popsicles melt, and used balloons to see that air is a gas that takes up space.

Students made predictions, shared their observations, and then enjoyed a popsicle while reviewing what they learned!

Hands-on science makes learning so much fun and these scientists did a fantastic job!

This week, Coach Hannah welcomed two very special visitors! Ms. Tammy Crutchfield brought Goose, a Great Dane, and Ms. Tammy Graham brought Juno.

Our students absolutely loved spending time with these amazing, trained and certified therapy dogs! Their visit brought so many smiles, comfort, and joy to our classroom. We are so thankful to Ms. Tammy C. and Ms. Tammy G., Goose, and Juno for making our week extra special!

Ms. Alana’s Woodlands Class had so much fun putting their taste buds to the test today! We sampled delicious apples with caramel, chocolate, and honey and talked about their favorite dipping!

There were lots of happy faces, curious little taste testers, and, of course, a few sticky fingers!

Mrs. Wilkinson’s 4th Grade Heritage Studies classes had a blast stepping into the past through hands-on learning!

Students played a Ships & Lighthouses game to learn how sailors used lighthouse signals and sound cues to safely navigate through fog and darkness. They also received passport stamps and enjoyed Moon Pies, a popular New England and Amish treat, while learning about this its connection to our heritage.

History came to life in the classroom!

What a night! Our DCAngels Volleyball Team, led by the incredible Coach Hannah D. Reynolds-Moncada, came out strong and WON!

We are so proud of these athletes for their hard work, teamwork, determination, and heart. What a well-deserved victory!

Our DCA K-12 teachers participated in a meaningful professional development “Losing Our Religion in Education: Creating a Stickier Worldview” focused on incorporating a biblical worldview into the classroom.

Together, they explored how to help students understand not only what is true, but why truth matters and how it shapes the way we see God, ourselves, others, and the world.

We are grateful for teachers committed to growing professionally while keeping Christ at the center of education!

What a special morning at DCA this week as we welcomed our grandparents for our annual Grandparents Breakfast and Brunch!

Our students were excited to share this special time with the people who love, encourage, and cheer them on. It was a wonderful morning filled with good food, meaningful conversations, and precious memories.

We are so grateful for the grandparents who are such an important part of our DCA family. Thank you for spending your morning with us and making it so special.

Grandparents truly make life a little sweeter.
