Our GES Panthers had an incredible hands-on experience at Red Rocks Community College’s Cadaver Outreach Program! 🥼🫀 Students explored human anatomy, connected classroom learning to the real world, and got an inside look at what studying health sciences can look like at the college level. 🎓

We love giving our Panthers opportunities to learn, explore, and discover where science can take them! 🐾💚

We’re coming up on Part 1 of the Turn-In Deadline: Thursday, September 17!⏰

All missing work from the first day of school (8/18) through now is due by this deadline. This is your chance to clear the slate, catch up, and start the second half of Quarter 1 strong! 💪✨

Need an extension? 📝
Talk to your interventionist and complete the form! You will need to get signed approval from your teacher(s) and administration before the deadline to receive extra time.

(Work assigned after September 17 will be due with the Part 2 deadline on Monday, October 5 in preparation for final exams.)

🎤✨ OPEN MIC NIGHT IS COMING! ✨🎤

Think you’ve got what it takes to own the stage? 🎶🎭🎤 Join us for GES Open Mic Night during Family Night on September 17! Students can show off their talents through music, poetry, comedy, and more—and YES, it’s a competition! 👀🏆 The winner will take home a TICKET TO SEE THE OUTSIDERS, a Tony Award winning play based on the book we are reading in English class! 🎟️🔥

Want to compete? Here’s how to enter:
🎤 Perform an original poem or spoken word
🎶 Sing or play an instrument
💃 Show off your dance skills
🎭 Do comedy, acting, or a monologue
🎨 Share an original artwork or another creative talent

⏱️ Performances should be 2–5 minutes and show preparation, creativity, and effort. Poems do NOT have to be memorized!
🏆 2–3 students will win a ticket to see The Outsiders! Awards may include Best Poetry Performance, Best Talent Performance, and Audience Favorite. 👀🔥
📚 Remember: Come prepared, keep it school appropriate, and support your fellow performers!

Learning that takes you beyond the classroom! 🚲🔧

At GES, enrichment programs aren’t just after-school clubs—they’re opportunities to earn actual credits while exploring interests, building skills, and trying something new. Students can choose from a variety of hands-on options, including cooking 🍳, photography 📸, outdoor skills 🏕️, video games 🎮, sports 🏀, and more! The choices rotate every quarter, providing chances to try tons of different options! ✨

One of our most popular enrichments is Lucky to Ride 🚲 Students learn how to build, repair, and maintain bikes while gaining hands-on experience, problem-solving skills, and confidence.

GES is on an accelerated credit recovery schedule, meaning students are learning material twice as fast as a traditional public high school. That means that classwork is prioritized to reflect academic standards and real-life applications. 📝

Meet Ms. Fransua, our Post-Secondary Counselor! She helps students turn their goals into real-world opportunities through work-study programs, internships, job shadowing, concurrent enrollment at Community College of Denver, and apprenticeships at Emily Griffith Technical College. 🚀

And our students are taking advantage! Last year, 63% of GES graduating seniors participated in a post-secondary opportunity such as concurrent enrollment or an internship. 👏
