Taking physics beyond the classroom ๐Ÿš€

GES students explored motion in real life during our trip to Wings Over the Rockiesโ€”where concepts like velocity, forces, and flight came to life right in front of them. From observing aircraft design to connecting classroom learning to real-world applications, students got a hands-on look at physics in action.

Learning hits different when you can see it, feel it, and experience it โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ก

Last week our Environmental Fellowship visited the Denver Botanic Gardens to explore the deep connections between people, plants, and place. ๐ŸŒฟ

As we walked through the gardens, we reflected on Indigenous beliefs that view nature not as a resource to be used, but as a relative to be respected. Many Indigenous communities understand land, water, and plants as living relativesโ€”teachers that require reciprocity, care, and gratitude.

Our students considered how environmental justice can honor these perspectives, and how leadership means listening to the histories and voices that have long protected this land. ๐ŸŒŽโœจ Grateful for spaces that allow us to learn from both science and tradition.
