Back to school season is here. For most girls, that’s a given. 🎒

For girls in rural Tanzania and rural Pakistan, it isn’t.

📍In rural Tanzania, fewer than 1 in 20 girls who finish Grade 10 go on to high school, vocational training, or university.

📍In rural Pakistan, fewer than 1 in 4 girls reach secondary school at all.

Elisia, Tanzania, is starting university! She shared that in high school she developed greater confidence, discipline, commitment, and determination to work hard toward achieving her future goals. Girls Ed is excited to support her educational dreams.

Noor, Pakistan, is back in school with support from Girls Ed! She was unable to continue her education after primary school due to the cost of travel. She shared, “Leaving school was deeply painful for me. There is only a primary school in our village, and for further education, students must travel, which we could not afford.”

Back to school should mean the same thing for every girl, everywhere. Right now, it doesn’t. Follow along this season to see their stories. 💛
