📷 ELK Education Center groundbreaking and Montbello Open Space Park opening, 2021. What began as a dream in our tiny office at Colorado Parks and Wildlife — after a lot of blood, sweat, and tears — eventually brought science education and outdoor recreation close to home for our Far Northeast Denver community. The Montbello Open Space Park is filled with a low ropes course, climbing boulder, trails, and species native to the shortgrass prairie. This one-of-a-kind park now sits right behind our Education Center, so lifelong experiential learning can flow seamlessly between indoor and outdoor spaces, right in the heart of Montbello!

Lo que comenzó como un sueño en nuestra pequeña oficina en Colorado Parks and Wildlife — tras mucho esfuerzo, sudor y lágrimas — terminó acercando la educación científica y la recreación al aire libre a los hogares de nuestra comunidad del extremo noreste de Denver. El Parque y Espacio Abierto de Montbello cuenta con un circuito de cuerdas bajas, una roca de escalada, senderos y especies nativas de la pradera de pastos cortos. Este parque único en su clase se encuentra ahora justo detrás de nuestro Centro Educativo, permitiendo que el aprendizaje experiencial continuo fluya de manera fluida entre los espacios interiores y exteriores, ¡justo en el corazón de Montbello!
