This week the MSU Denver Literacy Research Center and Clinic hosted educators for the first Annual Colorado Early Adolescent Literacy Institute focused on the literacy development of 4th and 5th grade students.
The workshop featured welcome remarks from Dean Rosemarie Allen, and the keynote "Shattering Unnatural Literacy Hierarchies: The Advanced Literacy Development of Colorado Students Requires More" from Executive Director Dr. Alfred Tatum. Faculty members Dr. Rebecca Canges, Dr. Krista Griffin, Dr. Lina Martin-Corredor, and Dr. Roland Schendel presented actionable strategies educators could take from the session to their classrooms.

Last week the Office of Clinical Experiences and Partnerships, lead by Assistant Dean Dr. Bryan Bohanan, welcomed 10 partner districts to campus. This second annual collaborative meeting focused building reciprocal partnerships that serve SOE students' professional development to create high quality teacher candidates for their future employers.

Last week, Dr. Caitlin Fine, Dr. Lina Martín Corredor, and members of the Dynamic Languaging CoDesign Collaborative led a professional learning workshop for over 100 K-12 science teachers in Denver Public Schools. Educators explored a new video collection highlighting what translanguaging pedagogies can look like when they support science sensemaking activities linked to the NGSS Science and Engineering Practices.
