Hey y'all! I'm getting DBS surgery for Essential Tremor Disorder. It's really been affecting my playing. I can't wait to start booking gigs again.
I just heard from the surgery scheduler and I am set for the first surgery on Wednesday December 20th. The second surgery and final surgery will be on January 3rd. They will keep me in the ICU for 24 hours after each surgery, but don't worry it's only because they need to monitor me hourly. It's go time and I will keep you all in the loop as we get closer. I think that they are going to try and film the surgery for the hospital because I'm going to be playing my saxophone throughout the surgery. Just to monitor how effective the placement of the electrodes are on my tremor. I guess this means I will have to clean out my mouthpiece and wipe the drool off of my saxophone.

The Pearls (1995 Remastered) 08/24/2023

I'm making a backing track for Jelly Roll Morton's The Pearls. It's in the Real Dixieland Book. I'll put a link to buy it in the comments. As soon as it's done I'll post it. Long form trad tunes are chop builders and great for working on changes. You have to walk before you run.The track is free.
