• Pack a snack for after class
• Add vegetables to one meal
• Eat before coming to the gym

EAT for the Life You Want
We train for more than workouts.
We train to hike, bike, ski, carry groceries, play with kids, move through workdays, and keep saying yes to life.
NUTRITION supports that.
Food is not punishment. It is not something to “earn.” It is part of the foundation that helps you do the things you care about.
Build the base. Keep it simple. Let it support the life you are building.

NUTRITION Supports Recovery
Training breaks the body down. Recovery builds it back up.
That recovery depends on sleep, hydration, stress management, and yes: food.
If you are constantly sore, tired, dragging through workouts, or feeling stuck, nutrition may be part of the conversation.
Not as judgment. As support.
Your body is doing hard things. Give it what it needs to adapt.
Better recovery helps you train more consistently. Consistency is where the magic is.

You do not need the perfect meal plan, the trendiest supplement, or a complete lifestyle overhaul to start.
For most people, progress begins with the basics:
• More protein
• More whole foods
• More water
• More consistency
• Less skipping meals and hoping for the best

CrossFit’s Theoretical Hierarchy of Development starts with NUTRITION for a reason.
Before intensity, before skills, before heavier lifts - the body needs support.
Nutrition impacts energy, recovery, muscle, bone, metabolism, and how consistently you can show up.
That doesn’t mean you need to be perfect. It means your daily habits matter.
Start simple:
• Eat enough
• Prioritize protein
• Drink water
• Add fruits and vegetables
• Fuel around training
Fitness is built one choice at a time.

Yesterday, we concluded our official Memorial Day weekend events with a special yoga class led by Coach Alex, in place of our usual 9am Sunnyside Strength and Conditioning class.
Our yogis received the invitation to examine where and how the spend their attention, and to reserve some of that attention and presence for themselves and those in their community.
We also used the class as a chance to slow down and breathe before a summer filled with great workouts and a full line up of events and workshops.

Mechanics. Consistency. Intensity.
In that order.
It's a CrossFit principle for a reason. We don't add load until the movement is sound. We don't chase intensity until it's consistent. That's how you actually get stronger without breaking down.
