Popcorn in hand, passport in the other, and a climbing wall to conquer. 🍿🧗
That was the vibe at DSST: Montview’s Back to School Night — A Knight of Connections. Families packed the building, explored local food trucks, tackled the climbing wall, and stamped their way through the passport challenge. For one night, our school felt less like a school and more like a fair — the best kind of first impression for a new year.
This is what a 6th–12th grade community looks like when it comes together. From the newest sixth graders finding their people to families reconnecting with teachers who genuinely know their students — this is the DSST Montview family, and we’re just getting started. 💙

DSST: Montview Middle School is officially Green on the Colorado School Performance Framework for the 2025-26 school year! 💚We are incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful to our students, staff, and families who made it possible. As we celebrate this milestone, we're excited to continue building on this success and creating even more opportunities for our students this school year. ✨

There are 3 Traits of a Knight that define who our students are to their core: Justice, Excellence and Passion. Every Monday Morning Meeting, in front of our entire community, we celebrate one student who embodies one of those traits.

Our first winner, for living out the Trait of Excellence, is 8th Grader, Noor Ahmad. She is new to our community this year, but Noor has already demonstrated that Excellence begins the moment you walk in the door.

As Knights, we are excellent on purpose because our purpose is excellence.

Building Big Ideas in 7 Minutes! 🏗️🧠

Our Montview Middle School students took on a 7-Minute STEM Challenge: build the tallest, strongest tower possible using just spaghetti and marshmallows! 🍝☁️

With limited time and materials, students practiced creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, communication, and perseverance—all while having a lot of fun! 🙌

This is what Day 1 looks like at DSST: Montview Middle School. 🖤❤️

Every 6th grader finding their place. Every returning Knight walking back in like they own it. Staff in their jerseys. Students packed wall to wall. And energy that you could feel from the parking lot.

This is what it means to be part of something from the very beginning — a community that grows together from 6th grade all the way through graduation. Every face in this room belongs here, and every single one of them is going somewhere.

Over 180 students walked among those red, black, and white balloons last night — and DSST: Montview MS has never felt more alive. 🎉

"A Knight Before School" brought our community together before the first bell even rings. Students grabbed their locker assignments, picked out magnets to make their space their own, met their advisors, and got a first look at their schedules. The energy in the building? Pure joy.

This is what belonging looks like at DSST: Montview — a place where every student is welcomed in, known by name, and ready to take on what's ahead. We can't wait to see you all on the first day! 💙
