The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection is proposing to amend rules applicable to process servers that are licensed by the Department to implement Chapter 189 of the Laws of 2022, which amended General Business Law 89-cc, and to make additional clarifications for consistency and clarity throughout.

These proposed changes are seen as unnecessary and burdensome to process servers. Process servers can state their concerns in a few ways listed below:
