Meet our October scholarship spotlight: Caitlin Durning! 🎓

Caitlin is an Innova scholarship recipient pursuing her medical degree at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix.

After 14 years as a registered nurse in Winslow, Arizona, she is working toward becoming a physician with a goal of returning to rural medicine.

We are pleased to recognize Marisol Castanon, an Innova Impact Foundation scholarship recipient!

Marisol is a registered nurse serving a rural community and is pursuing her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at the University of Phoenix. Her goal is to expand access to compassionate, evidence-based care for rural patients who often face barriers to healthcare.

“My hope is to give back by providing compassionate, evidence-based care to rural patients who often face barriers to accessing healthcare.”

We are pleased to recognize Justine Armijo, an Innova Impact Foundation scholarship recipient!

Justine is pursuing her Associate of Applied Science in Nursing at Trinidad State College while serving her community as an EMT. After more than eight years at Mt. San Rafael Hospital, she plans to continue serving the Trinidad community as a registered nurse.

“This scholarship is not just financial aid. It is an investment in not only mine, but my children’s future.”

Day 1 at the Eastern Plains Healthcare Consortium Annual Conference! One of today’s highlights was the fireside chat, “The Future of Rural Healthcare in Colorado,” featuring former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius and Jeff Tieman, President and CEO of the Colorado Hospital Association. The conversation was moderated by Kevin Stansbury, founder of EPHC and CEO of Lincoln Health.

Each brought a valuable perspective to the discussion about strengthening access to care, navigating transformation, and building a sustainable future for rural healthcare in Colorado.
