WOW!!!! I am so proud of our Warrior readers! This has been a wonderful week of sharing a schoolwide book, having our dress up days, and also taking time to enjoy reading!

This is our current update for our fundraising and minute goals:

Fundraising goal: $8,500. We have currently raised $11,285.00! Thank you SO MUCH to our amazing friends, family and school community for your generousity!

Minutes Read Goal: 85,000 minutes. We have currently read 132,552 minutes! THIS is the true success: our students have done an amazing job this week. Last year, we read approximately 112,000 minutes to let you know how fantastic this is!

We will continue to take monitary donations through Sunday.

Students will be able to read and enter minutes from home until the parent approved bedtime tonight or midnight, whichever comes first. I have many students trying to get me to tell all of you they have to stay up to read until midnight, so don't let them fool you!

Again, I am so proud of their accomplishments this week. You should be as well. Next week I will be looking at all of the final totals and send the winners out to everyone.

The Read-A-Thon will officially begin on Monday, September 14, 2026. We will be having dress up days throughout the week so be sure to check them out and participate!

Our school Read-A-Thon begins in less than a week! It is sure to be a fun and exciting event! Today we had our official Read-A-Thon kickoff. Your student will be bringing home the information specific to their classroom. The information will have the website and the classroom code on it for you to sign them up and then share with friends and family.

This account will serve as a hub for recording and monitoring your child's progress as a reader and for you to share their Read-A-Thon message with friends and family.

Our annual Read-a-Thon is coming soon! Read-A-Thons are a great way to get your reader excited about reading while raising funds for our school. This year we are doing something new: we will be doing “One School, One Book.” This is where each classroom will be reading the same book throughout the school in addition to the other reading we will be doing. The book this year will be 8 Class Pets + 1 Squirrel ÷ 1 Dog = Chaos by Vivian Vande Velde. The classes will be reading it throughout the week.
Our Read-A-Thon starts Monday, September 14, 2026. This is our annual fall fundraiser that helps support our classrooms by funding additional supplies for projects, help offset field trip costs, purchase pack party items, and much more.

We will be having our official kick-off on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. We will be sending home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page on that day. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.
We've chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.

We hope EVERYONE participates.
