Greetings Vikings Near and Far,

Our Annual Alumni Awards Dinner is coming up in April. Alumni, current students, families, community members, faculty and staff (past and present) are invited to join us, as we celebrate this year's awardees.

Dinner will be catered by the legendary North Side restaurant -- Carl's Pizza.

Cost: $20.00 dollars, per person
You can pay via CASH or CHECK only, at the door upon check-in (credit/debit cards will not be accepted).

Menu: Rigatoni Pasta, Marinara sauce and meatball and sausage, Salad with Ranch or Italian Dressing, Cake and a Beverage
Date: Thursday April 16th, 2026
Time: 6pm
Location: North High School Cafeteria

This year, as we always do, we will honor incredible awardees.

The North Side High School Alumni Association has been hosting this ALL CLASS Reunion for decades, and like every year, we are excited to welcome fellow North Grads, their families and North High supporters/friends of all ages. As always, our goal is to flood Lakeside with Purple and Gold.

Lakeside owner--Ms. Rhoda Krasner (North Class of 1960) is still working out specific details for the event, which is why we have not shared info about dinner, costs, or RSVPIng.

Once we have more info, we will share it promptly.

The North Side High School Alumni Association (NSHSAA) is again partnering with Nano Apparel this Holiday Season to open an online store for alumni merchandise. All of this merchandise makes great gifts for alumni or future alumni.

The Denver North Side High School Alumni Association (NSHSAA) is excited to host our annual North High School Birthday Party!
Alumni, current students, families, community members, faculty and staff (past and present) are invited to join us, as we celebrate our 141st year as a school.
Dinner will be catered by the legendary North Side restaurant -- Carl's Pizza.
Dinner will cost 10 dollars per person. You can pay via CASH or CHECK only, at the door upon check-in (credit or debit cards will not be accepted).
All proceeds help our Alumni Association continue to serve our alumni community and current North High School students.
The short program will include an update on North High Activities by the North High School Administration, a brief address by the NSHSAA President Dr. Isaac S. Solano and brief update from the Northwest Denver Optimist Club.

I hope you are all well. I am posting today because our beloved North High School is in the midst of selecting a new principal.

Personally, and professionally, I believe the right person to be our next school leader is: German Echevarria. German has a deep history and commitment to North High. He is a past North High School Assistant Principal, a current North High parent and a longtime North Side resident– in fact, German lives only a few blocks away from our very own Joe Sandoval (respected North Principal from 1992 to 2001).

Great news, the hard work over the past few years at Lake Middle School has paid off! Lake's enrollment has grown by 30 percent! Given the current situation with COVID19 and the requirements now and going forward for social distancing, we know that students will need more space to spread out when school starts back up in the fall. It is essential for Lake's students and staff health and safety that they have enough space to do so. The numbers below are extremely concerning to me. I urge you to sign the petition below to give Lake Middle School the usable classroom space they need to keep their students and staff safe and healthy.
Estimated square feet per student 2020-21
Lake square footage: Total 37,730 84 square feet per student for 2020-2021
Strive square footage: Total 25,795 103 square feet per student for 2020-2021

The DCTA bargaining team has worked tirelessly for 15 months to get our teachers the raise they deserve. Did you know they did that out of the goodness of their hearts?? Let's show them the love and send them all on a vacation because they need a break! There were 13 outstanding individuals on the bargaining team and our plan is that all money raised will be divided equally amongst them. So show them some love! Even a few dollars will go a long way!

Friends, in case you haven't heard, North enrollment has climbed dramatically since 2012. Please take a look at the attached letter to the Superintendent and the School Board regarding the need for additional space for North students. The petition seeks a good alternate location for STRIVE. If you wish to sign, please let me know by Sunday 1/14/18.
