As a busy working mom, I didn’t think I had enough time to make a difference, I didnt have the energy, I didn’t have the motivation somedays.
Soon I realized I had 15 min
When I began to use my 15 minute method,everything change. Not only for my son, but for me.
In My own home. 15 min turned to 30/45/ 1 hour and before I knew it, our days were full of intentional routines that were supporting regulation and teaching skills

I got called into a school today to help with a boy
They described him as not wanting to do work, not really interested in any thing or anyone.
So I joined him exactly where he was at,
On the floor with a balloon filled with floss fidget…. And I stretched it…. And let go…
He laughed at me, he looked at med and that’s exactly how it started.
I then used my strategies to keep the game going, keep him connected to meX shaping gestures, shaping language, using my tone and presence to modulate his attention to me.
Within 30 seconds of engagement we had a 15-minute back and forth interaction that moved to a peer and then outside the classroom with 3 other boys.
He said two words he had never said to anyone in that building, Get me and he continued the script of the game.
Once a child feels safe with you, the work comes. It always comes. But you cannot skip this part. You cannot drill your way to a relationship.
