Barry Friedman brings together two amazing classes - Laughter Yoga and Applied Improvisation - into one blast of an experience! Shhhh! Our semi-secret mission is to bring authentic community into the workplace, but Fun for a Change works well in places of worship, groups gathered for activism, schools, businesses, and many other contexts.

Playshop formats vary, but typically begin with theater games, followed by laughter yoga exercises, then a guided relaxation to leave you rejuvenated and refreshed. Barry Friedman has been a certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher and Bodyworker for more than 20 years, including several years teaching at Rallysport in Boulder, CO. Barry is also a professional actor, with many Colorado and New York City stage, comedy club, and improvisational theater credits, most recently performing for two seasons with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival and running “The Studio,” a theater camp for kids in Boulder. He often introduces play and theater games in his yoga classes and in corporate environments, helping to create “productivity playgrounds.” Barry trained at the New Actors’ Workshop in New York, where he studied improvisational theater intensively with famed Second City Founding Director Paul Sills, whose groundbreaking work in improvisation and story theater gave rise to Saturday Night Live, and whose mother, Viola Spolin, developed mprovisational theater in her living room in Chicago in the late 1940’s. Barry is also an experienced mediator and attorney, certified in multi-party environmental mediations, and an experienced Laughter Yoga teacher. His passion is organizational development and organizational culture, and his mission is bringing authentic community to the workplace. The tools of Fun for a Change - laughter yoga, applied improvisation, breathwork, and chi gong - dramatically improve worker creativity and innovation, productivity, and job satisfaction.
