Yesterday, we celebrated the Vibrant Entrances Project with special Artist Talks featuring Colorado artists Julio “Juls” Mendoza and Jaime Molina, along with refreshing agua frescas from The Wild Jungle Snacks!

As part of the Vibrant Entrances initiative, Juls and Jaime have brought their distinctive artistic voices to the entrances of the 7th Street Garage, transforming these everyday spaces into colorful, welcoming destinations that reflect the diverse stories, histories and creative spirit of the Auraria Campus.

The Artist Talks gave our campus community an opportunity to hear directly from the artists about their work, creative process and inspiration behind the project, and to celebrate the people and creativity bringing new energy to our shared campus spaces.

The Vibrant Entrances Project is about more than adding color to campus. It’s about creating spaces that feel welcoming, inspire connection and celebrate the community that makes Auraria unique.

A huge thank you to Juls and Jaime for sharing their incredible talents with our campus community, and to everyone who joined us to celebrate! 🎨

🎥 We had a great time on FOX31 Morning News today sharing the excitement surrounding Recess Tivoli! Recess CEO Jason Romero and Auraria Campus CEO Colleen Walker discussed what this exciting new addition means for Auraria and how Recess will soon call the historic Tivoli Student Union home, opening in the former Tivoli Brewing space.

Students can now add Recess to their schedule, and so can the rest of the Denver community! 🍔🎉

Behind every successful event is a team that makes it look effortless.

During Outside Days 2026, the King Center proudly served as the home of the festival's professional industry conference and film programming, welcoming attendees for industry panels, workshops, networking sessions, and film screenings throughout the week.

Hosting a large-scale, multi-day event like this requires months of planning and an incredible amount of behind-the-scenes coordination. The King Center Operations team worked alongside Facilities Management, Access Control, Custodial Services, ESP, and numerous campus partners to ensure every space was event-ready, every logistical need was met, and every guest had an exceptional experience.

We're incredibly proud to showcase the King Center's ability to support complex events while highlighting the collaboration and dedication that happens across the Auraria Campus every day.

One of the most rewarding moments came at the conclusion of the event, when members of the Outside Days production team personally thanked the King Center staff for their professionalism, responsiveness, and exceptional customer service. They shared that requests were handled quickly, staff remained flexible throughout the week, and the facility successfully supported both the industry conference and film programming.

It's partnerships like these that demonstrate the strength of the Auraria Campus community, and we're excited about the opportunity to welcome future events to the King Center.

🚧 Campus Construction Update 🚧
We owe everyone an apology...

We forgot to send the campus impact notice before this project was completed. 😅

Good news: There were no detours, no lane closures, and no disruptions, just 177 pieces coming together to create a custom LEGO® Tivoli Student Union. 🧱

We'd call this one a successful project.
