SWATeam SWATeam SWATeam stands for Students With Access Team. We will advocate for persons with disabilities while on campus.

SWATeam is a student outreach group for students with disabilities and those who support persons with disabilities. Our group will also be able to provide resources and information that the access center cannot. Some examples of this will be, finding caregiver’s while going to school, access to accessible restrooms, brainstorming ideas for adaptations. Disabled students will also be able to come to our group if they are seeking information on different programs out –side of school, such as disability and SSI, Vocational Rehab Services, care giving agencies. We will also be offering peer counseling services. Although, we will be offering advocacy and linkage to different information our most important purpose of the group is to be able to meet others with disabilities and have a place to congregate, share stories and help each other.

Hello all SWATeam is currently working on having a storage area for electric hoyer lifts for those of us who need help transferring to the restroom, and it looks good! I will keep you updated :)

Hello everyone! We are moving along nicely. We currently have our ADA study in the works and the fruit of that should be the construction of the much needed assigned disabled bathroom with full medical equipment available.
