SG Casting is casting The Lone Tree Arts Center’s production of Amadeus in Lone Tree, Colorado!
Both local and non-local talent are encouraged to submit an audition!
AEA audition sign ups will open on Monday, August 17th.
Non-AEA audition sign ups will open on Wednesday, August 26th.
If you are local, please sign up for an in-person audition if possible.
If you are not local, please plan to submit a video audition.

All above creative team members will be present at auditions and viewing audition videos.
In Person Initial Auditions: Monday September 14th and Tuesday September 15th.
In Person Callbacks: Monday October 5th; will add Tuesday October 6th if needed.
Video general auditions are due by Friday September 11th..
Video callbacks are due by Friday, October 2nd.

General Audition Requirements:
Please prepare one monologue or two contrasting monologues not to exceed 3 minutes total.

Information and Character Breakdown
CASTING NOTE:
Antonio Salieri and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be cast with male-presenting performers. Constanze Weber will be cast with a female-identifying performer, as the character is pregnant at one point in the play.
All other roles are open to performers of any gender. Performers of all genders and gender expressions are encouraged to audition.
Character genders, pronouns, relationships, and historical identities will remain as written in the script; performers will not be asked to portray a gender different from their own.
Roles:
ANTONIO SALIERI, male-presenting, 50 to 65
Court Composer to the Emperor. Brilliant, ambitious, and deeply conflicted, he serves as narrator while recounting his lifelong rivalry with Mozart. Exceptional command of language and emotional range required.
WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART, male-presenting, 25 to 35
A musical genius with boundless wit, irreverence, and youthful energy. Mercurial, funny, and deeply vulnerable beneath his exuberance.
CONSTANZE WEBER MOZART, female-presenting, 20 to 35
Mozart’s devoted wife. Intelligent, resilient, and fiercely practical as she struggles to support her husband and family. Role will also include Ensemble work.
EMPEROR JOSEPH II, 35 to 55
Emperor of Austria. Affable, curious, and genuinely devoted to music, though often unaware of his own limitations. Strong comic instincts. Role will also include Ensemble work.
BARON VAN SWIETEN, 50 to 70
Influential patron of the arts. Intellectual, dignified, and quietly authoritative. Role will also include Ensemble work.
COUNT VON STRACK, 35 to 60
Court official. Polished, ambitious, and committed to preserving decorum and tradition. Role will also include Ensemble work.
COUNT ORSINI-ROSENBERG, 40 to 65
Imperial Director of Opera. Conservative, politically savvy, and skeptical of artistic risk. Role will also include Ensemble work.
BARON WALSEGG, 40 to 65
Wealthy aristocrat with a mysterious presence. Reserved and imposing. Role will also include Ensemble work.
Two VENTICELLI, 30 to 50
The “Little Winds.” Nimble storytellers who provide gossip, exposition, and comic energy. Excellent timing and verbal dexterity required.
KATHERINA CAVALIERI, 20 to 40
Celebrated soprano and former student of Salieri. Confident, poised, and accustomed to admiration. Classical singing ability welcome but not required. (No dialogue). Role will also include Ensemble work.
TERESA SALIERI, 40 to 60
Salieri’s wife. Quiet, observant presence. (No dialogue). Role will also include Ensemble work.
ENSEMBLE
18+ To portray courtiers, servants, musicians, clergy, and opera performers. Strong ensemble skills and comfort with multiple roles. Singing and movement abilities a plus.
