"Another summer comes to a close for the summer seasonal staff at Kennedy Mountain Campus! This year’s staff was truly fantastic to watch as they grew in their ability to facilitate programming, guide participants, and care for so many campers. Their teamwork, thoughtful preparation, and, of course, their laughter made it such a pleasure to be part of their journey. We are so proud of all they accomplished this summer and look forward to seeing all they will accomplish in the future. Until next summer!"

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to DU soon, and First Ascent is an unforgettable way to begin your journey.
Spend a weekend at the Kennedy Mountain Campus connecting with fellow Pioneers, exploring the outdoors, challenging yourself and creating memories before and during your first quarter at DU. From hiking and climbing to reflection, mentorship and evenings with your new community, there’s something for everyone.

Our Homestead Cabins at KMC offer semi-private lodging for up to 4 guests, making them a great option for small groups looking to stay close to the adventure. Trailheads just outside your door lead to mountain biking, rock climbing, via Ferrata, and more!

Each cabin includes a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee bar, plus easy access to the nearby shower house.

Whether you’re here for a retreat, group trip, or peaceful mountain escape, the Homestead Cabins are ready to welcome you. 🌄💛

Ready to take your summer plans to new heights? 🧗

KMC is now offering select July and August dates for visitors to climb our two via ferrata routes — perfect for families, friends, and anyone looking for a thrilling mountain adventure!

Here’s what to expect:
🧗 Guided 1.5- to 2.5-hour excursions
⛑️ All equipment provided
👥 Groups of 1–6 people of all ages — kids welcome!
⚠️ Participants below 85 lbs. or above 265 lbs. require additional safety equipment
💳 Prices scale by group size, starting with a $150 deposit per group.

Available dates:
July 18–22
July 28–31
August 1–2
August 7
August 11–16

Morning and afternoon time slots are available each day:
9 a.m.–12 p.m. and 2–5 p.m.
