Providing a holistic approach to fi****ms training & all aspects of personal protection.

Mitch Snider 05/11/2026

Jeff Cooper is consider by most to be the Father of modern fi****ms training. If you haven’t seen his lecture on mental conditioning for combat & the often misunderstood Color Codes of Awareness, it is definitely worth taking the time to watch, if you consider yourself a serious student of fi****ms & personal defense.

Great 3 days of training down in Mississippi at the Rangemaster Professional Pistolcraft Instructor Development Course! Got an opportunity to train among a very talented group of fi****ms instructors from around the country. I was able to complete the class shooting qualification with a 100%, and ended up taking 2nd place overall honors in the class. Also successfully completed the qualification courses to earn the coveted Master Pistol Award! The training journey continues….

Live fire training day! Working on final tune ups before this weekends Rangemaster Professional Pistolcraft Instructor course.

Working on the Master Pistol Award qualification. Shot a 298/300 on the bullseye qual. Forgot to take a picture but shot a 97/100 on the 2nd phase. Respectable score, but I’d really love to shoot it clean. Just a matter of staying disciplined!

Virginia gun owners just got hit with the most aggressive wave of gun control in the state’s history — and most of it lands July 1, 2026. If you live in, carry in, or even just drive through Virginia with a firearm, you cannot afford to ignore this.

BAD MONTH TO BE A VIRGINIA GUN OWNER

Governor Abigail Spanberger and a Democrat-controlled General Assembly pushed eight major gun control bills, with one taking effect immediately and most of the rest going live July 1. Two additional bans are still pending and could be signed or allowed to become law without further warning.

Here’s what Jacob Paulsen breaks down in our new article “Virginia Gun Laws 2026: What Every Gun Owner Needs to Know”:

👉 Under-21 handgun and semi-auto possession ban with no grandfather clause and an emergency effective date (HB1525). If you’re 18–20 and already own a handgun or certain rifles, you’re suddenly at risk.

👉 A new public carry ban for many commonly-owned semi-auto rifles and pistols on public streets, sidewalks, and parks, with no self-defense exception (SB727/HB1524).

👉 Tighter vehicle carry and storage rules that change how you can leave a gun in an unattended vehicle (SB496/HB110).

👉 A reciprocity change (SB115) that could shrink where Virginia permits are honored and affect anyone carrying into or through the state.

👉 New campus carry restrictions for Virginia public colleges and universities (SB272/HB626).

👉 A CCW training overhaul that removes NRA and USCCA courses from the code and rewrites what “qualifying training” looks like (HB916).

👉 Sweeping new civil liability exposure for the firearm industry in Virginia (SB27/HB21).

👉 A “ghost gun” law that bans building unserialized fi****ms and even penalizes many people who bought parts legally before the law (SB323/HB40).

On top of that, a federal bill is already being sold in D.C. as the “Virginia model,” signaling that what happens in Richmond won’t stay there. DOJ’s Civil Rights Division has already warned Virginia that parts of this agenda are unconstitutional and headed for court.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE JULY 1

If you carry in Virginia, travel there, or care about where this “model” goes next:

👉 Check your home state’s reciprocity with Virginia before you travel. Do not assume it’s the same as last year.

👉 Review the new rules for guns in vehicles and on public property, especially if you carry a semi-auto rifle or pistol with higher-capacity magazines.

👉 If you’re under 21 and own fi****ms in Virginia, talk to a qualified attorney about your situation under HB1525.

👉 If your permit training was NRA or USCCA based, watch closely for Virginia State Police guidance on what happens next.

This is not the time to guess, assume, or “wait and see.”

👉 Read Jacob’s full breakdown and get the details on each bill, the pending bans, and the coming court fights here: “Virginia Gun Laws 2026: What Every Gun Owner Needs to Know” — link in the comments.
