Today, we commemorate the historic day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing fight for racial justice.

At CEA, we are dedicated to creating inclusive and equitable educational environments. This Juneteenth, let’s:

➡️ Educate ourselves and our students about the significance of this day.
➡️ Celebrate the rich culture and contributions of our Black communities.
➡️ Advocate for policies that promote racial equity and justice in our public schools.

Join us in honoring Juneteenth and recommitting to the work of building a more just and equitable future for all.
