Collegiate Prep Academy will be closed Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29 for Spring Break. Classes will resume Monday, April 1 at 8 a.m.

Dear Collegiate Prep Families,

We are excited to announce that Dr. Darryl Bonds has accepted the role of principal of Collegiate Prep Academy. Dr. Bonds will be visiting with parents and community members at Collegiate Prep on Thursday, March 21, from 5:30-7:00PM in the Seminar Room. We encourage all families to attend to meet Dr. Bonds.

Dr. Bonds was selected as the principal of Collegiate Prep due to his proven track record of raising student achievement as a school leader. Most recently at Wasson High School in Colorado Springs, Dr. Bonds increased the on-time graduation rate from 58 percent to 72 percent over a two-year period, while also seeing gains in academic performance and student engagement. We were also impressed with Dr. Bonds’ ability to quickly build relationships with the Collegiate Prep community. On March 11, Dr. Bonds met with Collegiate Prep students, teachers and families, and from each group we received positive feedback about Dr. Bonds’ experience and ability to work with our families.

Dr. Bonds will begin working with Interim Principal Henderson-Gethers over the coming months to learn more about the Collegiate Prep community and transition into the role. Over this time, there will be additional opportunities to meet Dr. Bonds and speak with him about the direction of the school. Dr. Bonds will transition into the role of principal full-time at the start of the 2013-14 school year.

Please join us on Thursday, March 21, from 5:30-7:00PM in the Seminar Room to meet Dr. Bonds and welcome him to the Collegiate Prep community.

Dear Collegiate Prep Academy Families,

On Monday, March 11 from 6-7:30PM we will host a community forum where you will have the opportunity to meet the high-quality principal candidates we have identified for Collegiate Prep Academy.

During this meeting, the candidates will present their vision for Collegiate Prep Academy, and then you will have the opportunity to ask each candidate questions about their vision, experience, and background. After the candidates have answered your questions, you will then have the opportunity to provide your feedback on each candidate.

Your voice is incredibly important during this process. Your feedback will be given directly to Superintendent Tom Boasberg, and he will use that feedback as he makes his decision between the candidates. Please join us next Monday for this important meeting.

THE THIRD ANNUAL PROM DRESS EXCHANGE PROVIDES GORGEOUS PROM DRESSES & MENSWEAR TO TEENS FOR JUST A $10 DONATION & STUDENT ID

NO TEEN TURNED AWAY FOR LACK OF PAYMENT IN ADVANCE OF THEIR BIG DAY

The 2013 Prom Dress Exchange is here to help provide a spectacular, one-of-a-kind outfit for just $10. Hosted for the third year by local non-profit The Prom Dress Exchange Corp., metro teens can shop for the dress of their dreams from thousands of gently-used and brand new designer items, including a limited selection of menswear.

A valid student ID and $10 donation will provide access to the event and an outfit. Seamstresses will be available onsite to do limited services. Those unable to donate won’t be turned away – the goal of the event is to ensure every teen can attend their big day in style.

Parents and students that will join the CPA community next year are invited to attend the Parent Information Night tonight, February 28, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This meeting will held in CPA's seminar room. Current CPA administrators will discuss plans for next year, including the building and administrative transitions. Also, attendees will have a chance to win a free ipod.

Come to the meeting and learn about all of the great things happening at CPA.
