It’s the The Real Deal!

Announcing the Colonial Claims Mile High Training Program...

In the 80’s and 90’s, Flood and Cat adjusters were still cowboys, country bumpkins and southern and Midwest roofers. That’s where all the hurricanes and hail were.

With the use of computers, the industry has gotten more and more technical. The skill sets needed today are vastly superior to those 20-30 years ago.

Our industry is changing, and we have to adapt and grow with the IT coming, or be left behind. We also need more and more experienced adjusters for wind, hail and other peril because most flood adjusters do NOT want to climb roofs and work wind/hail. Our wind and peril side run by Scott Smith is expanding and we are getting daily claims from California eastward, and all perils including total fire losses.

Therefore, to improve while staying relevant and number ONE...... we are announcing our association with Mile High Adjusters and establishing training centers in Dunedin, Florida and Lexington, Ky. The Colonial Claims Mile High Training.

A number of classes will be offered, beginning the third week of January. We will continue to give our one day Flood Certification at no charge, but we are going to be able to offer you the ability to learn other peril adjusting, and license new individuals with a Texas license if they pass the test. We are trying to get the license for Florida too.

Extensive training will be given in policy (other peril) interpretation, scoping, documenting, and writing losses (multiple days training in Xactimate and maybe Symbility too). Our classes will run ‪from 3-5‬ days to 12-14 for new adjusters. Each can decide what if anything they want to learn more about.

Colonial will still be giving our flood training at regions around the US, as we have for the past 5-7 years.

We are NOT trying to replace you, our core Flood Team, but we are trying to address our need for Other Peril adjusters for in-house carrier desk review, scoping and writing losses. Probably only a handful of you may be interested in these classes, but if you have little to no experience, this is the opportunity to learn to earn before a storm hits.

2019 was a lean year for all. Some years are. But, flood is the peril that keeps on giving and giving to us and all getting this email are on the Colonial Team.

One last comment, if you intent to be a Trainer, you must comply with FEMA requirements. Sabrina has sent those out numerous times, and you have ‪until 12-31-19‬ to document.

Stay prepared, be safe and enjoy our blessings.....
Merry Christmas
