Our seminarians headed to Conception Abbey in Missouri for the annual Thunder Cup, joining four other seminaries for a weekend of soccer, volleyball and brotherhood. ⚽🏐

After a hard-fought championship game, our men brought home second place! 🥈 Huge thanks to Conception Seminary for hosting and to all the teams for the friendly rivalry. Go, SJV!!

A few weeks ago, we welcomed supporters of our seminary to St. John Vianney for our Seminary Open House! Guests toured the seminary, joined us for Mass celebrated by our rector, Fr. Ángel Pérez-López, and spent time with our seminarians at a reception.

To everyone who supports our seminary: your generosity helps these men prepare for a lifetime of serving Christ and his Church. We're grateful to share this journey with you!

Last week, our seminarians gathered for a Holy Hour with a monstrance blessed by St. John Paul II: one of six he blessed to encourage Eucharistic Adoration and prayer for vocations across the world's six inhabited continents.

Thank you to the Denver Serra Clubs for coordinating the North American monstrance's visit to St. John Vianney!

Please join us in praying for those discerning a call to the priesthood and religious life, and for those already in formation. May they grow closer to Christ and respond generously to his call.

St. John Paul II, pray for us!

A little Newman for the next generation of priests! 📚

Our seminarians recently had the opportunity to hear Dr. Matthew Levering present “John Henry Newman and the Magisterium: Can Receptivity Be Squared with (Some Kinds of) Resistance?”

Inspired by St. John Henry Newman's recent proclamation as a Doctor of the Church last year, the lecture was an invitation to dig deeper into his thought and reflect on the Church's teaching authority — big questions worth making time for!

St. John Henry Newman, pray for our seminarians!

The boys are back in town. 😎

This week, our seminarians are officially back on campus at St. John Vianney Theological Seminary, kicking off a new year of study and formation!

We asked a few of them the important first-day-of-school questions, and somehow they all had the same favorite color... huh.

Please join us in praying for our seminarians as they begin another year!

School’s out for summer! ☀️

Last week marked the end of classes for the academic year for our seminarians, and the joy is hard to miss!

Please pray for all of our seminarians as they conclude another academic year of formation. As they begin summer assignments or retreats in the weeks ahead, may the Lord continue to strengthen them in their vocation and draw them ever closer to the heart of the Good Shepherd.

There are 148 parish locations in the Archdiocese of Denver and only 148 priests to serve them.

The need for priests is real. But there's hope: more than 900 names were submitted through the recent Called By Name initiative, and over 20 men are entering formation this year.

Even still, there's more to be done. Through our prayer and witness, all of us have a part to play in cultivating a culture of vocations.
