When was the last time you read a book in just a few days? For me, ten years ago, until today. I spent a few hours a day reading this book, My Costume - Myself, for the last three days. My Costume, myself, was written by Thomas Endres, a colleague and friend. I recommend the book to Mark Neitro, Sue Neitro, Lisa Goldberg, Mallory Davis, and Jessica Gardner. However, I think many of you would enjoy this book.
It's a book about Cosplay, but many beyond that community would find this book fascinating. Did you know costumes are more than just dressing up? It's more like keys to unlocking who you are inside. In the book, Tom talks about hobby wear, which I can relate to well. As a roller coaster fanatic, it's not just riding the roller coaster but also dressing the part. I generally wear a roller coaster shirt when I visit an amusement park. While that's not Cosplay, it is hobby wear, something I never connected to until I read this book. Tom interviews many people in this book, so there are so many great stories, and that is what I found the most beneficial because I'm a storyteller, too. It took me about 7 hours to read this, and I recommend it as a Christmas gift, hence the photo.
