One of the FFA Quality Standards is Strengthening Agriculture through Agricultural Literacy, and our North Miami FFA members put that into action Friday!

Our students hosted our annual 6th Grade Soils Day, welcoming all sixth graders to learn about the importance of soil and its role in agriculture. Throughout the day, students explored various aspects of soil science, including soil texture, slope, color, erosion, cover crops, landforms, soil horizons, parent materials, drainage, and soil pH.

Our agriculture students took the lead by running each station and teaching younger students about these important agricultural concepts. We are proud of our members for sharing their knowledge, developing leadership skills, and helping strengthen agricultural literacy in our school community.

We are so proud of our North Miami FFA program and the meaningful opportunities it provides for our younger students! Through our elementary agriculture programs, we reach students in grades K–6, helping them discover the importance of agriculture and the many ways it impacts their everyday lives.
We are proud to be growing the next generation of agricultural leaders through agricultural education!

Earlier this week, our Warriors spent the day exploring future opportunities through college visits, job shadowing, the PSAT, and community service.

From the classroom to the workplace and college campuses, students had the chance to explore what comes next!

Check out a few highlights from the day!

Our 6th graders had the opportunity to step into the real world this week at JA BizTown in Fort Wayne!

After preparing in the classroom, students put their skills to work in a fully interactive community where they took on jobs, earned paychecks, managed money, worked with others, and experienced what it takes to keep a business and community running.

From banking and budgeting to teamwork, leadership, and customer service, our students got a hands-on look at how the things they learn in the classroom connect to the real world.

We are proud of our 6th graders for taking on their roles, working together, and making the most of this unique learning experience!

A big thank-you to Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana for providing such a meaningful experience for our students!
