DSST: Cedar now serves more than 950 sixth through twelfth graders from across the city.

DSST: Cedar Middle School opened its doors to 150 sixth graders in June of 2013, and we opened our High School in the fall of 2016 with our founding 9th grade class.

Our 8th grade science class put their engineering skills to the test by designing and testing solar cookers! From brainstorming to building, students explored renewable energy through creativity, collaboration, and a little trail and error 🌎🔬End of year summer STEM fun at its finest!

📣 Early Bird Registration is Open!
Registration for the 2026–2027 school year will be open May 4–May 22 and will reopen in mid-July. All students must complete registration before the first day of school.
We’re working toward 50% registered by May 22 and appreciate your support in helping us get there!
Families can register online (https://www.dpsk12.org/page/my-portal) or stop by the front office during school hours for support. English and Spanish guides, along with DPS registration resources, are available to help.

Future scientists in action 🧪⚾️
Some of our middle schoolers had the chance to attend Rockies STEM Day with Steve Spangler and it did not disappoint. From competing in the egg drop challenge alongside other DSST schools to cheering on the Colorado Rockies as they took on the San Diego Padres, it was a day full of curiosity, creativity, and fun.
Safe to say…our students crushed it 🥚🧡💙

This past Wednesday, one of our seniors brought a powerful vision to life through their senior project by hosting DSST: Cedar’s very first African Diaspora! From incredible performances to meaningful learning and delicious food, the event honored and uplifted the richness of our students’ African cultures. We are so proud of the leadership, creativity, and community this event brought to life ❤️💛💚
